Pulling into a gas station, the trac light came on. The orange one that shows the car sliding. I turned the car off, fueled up and took off. The light turned on at startup and stayed on the whole way home (38 miles). Got home and turned the car off and turned it back on. Was still there. Anything I can try before I head to the dealer? I won't be able to for a couple days. Car drives normal.

Make arrangment to leave car at dealer for day.. best drop for morning, maybe have it back that afternoon,, depends on what they find and what the repair be..

Pretty simple,, yes ??

I may have to do that...
Any idea what it could be? I looked at fuses and they were fine.

The light covers several systems... It's for the traction control system (TCS), electronic stability control (ESC) and the vehicle stability management (VSM). A fault in any one of these will cause the warning light to stay on.

These are all complex systems with many sensors and parts... I don't think there is anything you can poke or tweak to get the light to go off.. The dealer is the best bet.

I hope it's a quick "while you wait" fix.. Let us know what it was...

It happened to me last night. I was idling in a parking lot for like 10 minutes waiting for my wife to leave work. The light comes on. I drive a little, nothing changes. I tried switching the car off and on, and it stayed on. As soon as I started driving it went off. I went to the dealership today to have it checked out. But they had to schedule me for tomorrow because there were closing in half an hour. I also still need an ECM update so it could be that. But i'll report tomorrow if they mention anything about it.

My car has the update....
I also was driving when mine came on. Still hasn't come back though. I guess that's good. It also still blinks at me when tires break loose, so I know it's working lol

2012AccentSE - You say that you got the first blue SE on this site, and that you had joined in July of 2011... Just curious as to what # your vehicle was (the last 6#s of your VIN). Mine is 000169 (the 169th to roll of the line) and I was having a similar problem with that silly little light.

I am hoping it is not a fluke 'first week of manufacturing' error that they corrected after our RBs were on the boat....
