try cleaning the area where the seal rests against the frame of the car. use a rag and some windex, then use some white lithium grease and lubricate the seal.

I have the same issue.

Best way I can describe it is it sounds like flies caught in between the window and screen without the buzzing.

Doesn't happen all the time, and only happens if the sun roof is closed or vented. Pretty much goes away if I close the shade.

Took it to the dealer and they could hear it but not fix it without starting to remove the sun roof and/or headliner. Not enough of a PITA for me to worry about if the headliner gets re-installed properly or if the roof leaks.

might actually be a rattle coming from the head liner. I had some issues with rattles. I ended up dropping parts of the headliner to install some padding to prevent rattles. (ever so slight ones as well)

Can you go into a little detail about how you dropped down parts of the headliner? There is a rattl over the passenger side just above the seatbelt and dealer supposedly took down the headliner over 4 days and "fixed" it, but it's still there. Wouldn't mind looking for myself.

if i recall....wasn't there an issue with the microphone on some poster's cars that were causing a sound up there and one traced it down to this? i think his solution was to push it back up into the headliner and it solved the issue.

this is from memory, and i just forgot my wifes cell number today (we've had the phone number for 13+ years). i eventually remembered it...but, i'm just saying, i might be wrong on my response.

edit - ahh...memory coming back....there were some loose clips that hold the headliner in and this was there issue, or part of it.

to drop the headliner, you must remove the a,b, and c pillar plastics. remove the front overhead console lamp assy, remove the sun visors, remove the "oh ****" handles. then there are a total of 6 push in retainers, 4 in the rear and 2 in the front. then you pull down and it will pop off. also dont forget to disconnect the A-pillar electrical connectors. the rattle that you just mentioned sounds more along the lines with the side curtain airbag's. thats what was making noise for me, i took felt padding and insulated the areas the air bad are, i also rapped up two wire looms that run from the front to the back of the head liner, the looms are yellow in color and contain one wire in each. the problem i believe that I had was that the one wire was able to float around and cause a rattle sound in the looms. also my microphone wire separated from the glue that was used to hold it down so that was making some noise.

I resolved all my rattles except for one in the passanger rear, i have it isolated, just need to spend the time and drop down that area and see what i can do.

if you do try and drop the head liner, i advise you get spare clips to and push pins to hold the sucker back up, the originals are in there good.

in all honesty Id actually say let the dealer do it because the head liner is semi flexible, and if you bend it to much you will cause a crease and ruin it.

For my to accomplish this, we are looking at a days worth of work, which i don't have. Also if your asking me for a detailed write-up on how to drop the headliner I feel strongly this is something that you SHOULD NOT attempt on your own. If you are curious what Hyundai provides there techs in terms of instructions you can check hmaservice.com In terms of the padding, you would need to actually diagnose the location of your sound, then depending on the situation you might be having in your headliner, apply the correct insulation in the correct manor.

Its under warranty, let the dealer do it, and if they mess it up its on them to get a new headliner.

Many veterans of this forum who are experienced technicians like my self will agree that you should not try and do this.
