Hyundai to Recall 305,000 Sonatas

Hyundai Motor Co will recall nearly 305,000 vehicles in the United States to replace the brake pedal stopper pad, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said.
Hyundai will recall certain model year 2011-2012 Sonata vehicles manufactured between Dec. 11, 2009 and June 30, 2011, according to a letter the NHTSA sent Hyundai, acknowledging the recall.

If the brake light switch plunger did not retract, as it should when the brake pedal is not being pressed, the brake lights may stay on at all times, increasing the chances of a crash, the letter said.
Hyundai said on Friday that no injuries had been reported so far due to the issue.

The recall is expected to start on Jan. 11, 2016, the NHTSA said the letter sent on Thursday.

We been doing them for about a week now (pedal pad),, we currently out of stock with the initial allotment Hyundai sent to us..

Engine thing been talked about a good while, and finally come about maybe a month ago now

Dont need letter to get recall done.. as hyundai Motor states to dealer,,, "any car that arrive in service aisle for any kind of service is to have VIN run on WEBDCS and verify there is no open recall.. If open recall, service person is to tell owner of open recall and complete recall during that visit if at all possible"..

You have a pile of recall, and only want to 1 or 2 recall,, they (dealer) wont do it, Hyundai will not pay claim,, recalls have to be complete in 1 sitting, as Hyundai Motor does not want cars running around with open recalls
