I am trying to get access to the right rear door lock actuator on my 06 Sonata in order to replace it. I've got the trim panel off and all of the bolts out of the metal access panel under that, but I can't seem to figure out how to remove it. I pulled the screw out that attaches the window itself but can't get it to seperate.

Can anyone tell me where I am going wrong?

Yea babby,,, NF rear door repair.

Look at where you took the screw out.. see the slot ?? use aflat blade screwdriver of about same size in the slot, and carefully apply pressure and fiddle with the glass... some how or other it will pop out, and raise glas up to top and use long strip of masking tape over top of door frame and tape inside and outside of glass so it dont fall down on you..

Carry on from there.

Leave the 3 finger thing for the latch intact.... assemble latch back to it, slide whole assembly back into door, and latch is lined right up with holes in door for 3 bolts to be re-installed,, otherwise your latch is flopping around while you try to get it into position

I could not fit that 3 prong latch w/ the lock/handle mechanism attached in and get the bottom metal tabs of the inner metal door back into place. Got real frustrated, then read that the guy said it was for the robots. Boxcut that thing off! Yeah! I did not cut off the part attached to the lock mechanism, just the giant trident. The metal door panel does not move far enough to the right to insert the mechanism w/ the trident attached.

apparently the metal cable that runs the sliders/window up and down frayed. I cut the fray part off but the window sounds awful! at least its working now. Took me 4 and a half hours struggling with moving stupid parts around.

How do I go about replacing the cable part? or what do I need for a shop to repair it?
