Hi Folks,
I'm one month away for the first oil change. I was looking at the SF owner's manual and it recommends Quaker State Full Synthetic with classification of "API SN PLUS / SP or ILSAC GF-6 / 0W-30" for Smartstream 2.5 Turbo Engine.
Now I do find the Quaker State Full Synthetic 0W-30 oil at the Canadian tire store (here in canada) and its not that I plan to change the oil myself, but i was just trying find that oil price and more importantly the oil specs. For some reason, at quaker state web page, the "0W-30" (Viscosity) is labeled as "Euro Full Synthetic motor oil" (or as Euro LX) and in its specs sheet, I see that API/ACEA Rating as: "SN, ACEA C2/C3".
For all the other Viscosity grade like 0W-20 or 5W-20, 5W-30 (of Quaker State Full Synthetic oil) I see the API/ILSAC Rating as "SP/GF-6, API SN PLUS, API SN-Resource" etc.
Questions:
1. Is "SN, ACEA C2/C3" is equivalent to "API SN PLUS / SP or ILSAC GF-6" or I'm reading it incorrectly?
2. Anyone with SF 2.5T had their oil change at dealer & have any info for specs on 0W-30 ?
I'd some google search and got to know ACEA is an advocate for the automobile industry in Europe, hence Quaker State labels 0W-30 as EURO but equivalent for US/Canada market ?
