I find that once I'm seated and reach back for my seat belt that I am doing some type of contortionist move (reaching WWAAYY back). I'm 6'4 and it's still a reach.

Any else experience this and found a solution to make grabbing the belt easier.

I'm 6'2" and I have never had a problem.
Just out of curiosity, which hand do you reach with?
I reach with my right and turn my body part ways, but I do that in all cars.

i'm a little dude about 5'7. My seats not huggint the wheel but still, no problems. I wonder why they didn't install one of those seat belt arm that bring it forward or one of those loop that attach to the seat itself and feed the belt through?

I have definitely noticed this. In fact, I got a shoulder strain from twisting my arm back around to try and get it after I got the car. I don't think it's physically possible to reach around with my right arm across my body and behind the seat.

It might not be too hard to rig something up around the headrest post to thread the seatbelt through so it doesnt end up in the back seat when you unbuckle it.

All of my body parts are really long  , so it's not too much of a stretch. Although today I used my left hand and reached back and it was somewhat easier.

Had to replace my Sirius antenna today, it went bad???? I wonder how long those interior fastener thingys are gonna last with me pulling them in and out so often (hiding the wires).

I may try to fashion some type of plastic guide to fasten to the headrest post.

That will probably work... The 2-door cars I've owned/driven have had those. Not sure why they wouldn't put something like that on these cars, it sounds like a stretch to reach the thing.

You turn your torso to the left also, so that you are twisting and reaching.

I turn my torso as far as I can and I still can't reach that far behind and below my left shoulder with my right hand even while sitting in a chair, never mind in the seat of a car with a steering wheel in front of me. You guys must have really long arms or really narrow shoulders or maybe an extra elbow or something.

When I reach for the seat belt I have to use my left arm, putting it down and behind me between the seat and the door with the palm facing up, then lean forward and slightly to the left to get my arm back there far enough to grab it. And my arm doesn't fit between the seat and door very well, either.

im sorry every one but after reading the vast majority of posts ive come to a realization. comsumers these days are LAZY. lol im not trying to be an **** hole but come on people. so you have to turn and strech to reach your seat belt, its good for you. i can understand for the vertically challenged group on this post cuse yeah it would be tough to get at the belt. but people over 6 feet should not be complaining. and the reason they dont have a belt guide on our cars is because for one its for the most part a pontiac/chevy idea. not to mention that that many grand am, grand prix and cav owners with this set up hate the guide and find it impracticle to passengers in the rear because most people get tangled in it. it also sucks when the belt gets tangled and crap cuse then it never fits right. i think we all could use a bit of a stretch in the morning and get lively... jmtc :whistling:

i dont notice the stretch anymore, i'm 6'2, and dont even recall it ever really being a major problem..
about the belt guide; my friend has a G5 [pontiac] and it has those belt guides, annoying little things, the belt either always falls out of it, or like nobodies said, passengers are always getting tangled in it, and getting in and out of the rear is more of a hassle.
i'll stick with what we got.. it's not really an issue.

Maybe the reason why there are no belt guides on the seatback is because of the side airbags that come out of the seatbacks themselves.

I know the dealer SPECIFICALLY told me when I picked up the new Accent that NO seat covers were to be used on these cars because of the side airbag issue.
Bummer...as I get pretty dirty in my job and would like to cover/protect the factory seat material.

Yeah, you definitely don't want to use seat covers on these seats. Should the air bag ever deploy, it won't be able to do its job since the path it needs to take is blocked. In some cases, I've heard a seat cover can cause the air bag to deploy forcefully into your side or back and cause serious injury.

I guess you could always throw a bath towel down on the seat, that may help keep the seat a bit cleaner. I've used those before, kinda annoying and not the most elegant solution but work in a pinch.

I have seen seat covers on eBay that allegedly allow for deployment of side impact air bags, but that's a chance I don't want to take for me personally.. Not sure if they really work or not.
