Hello,
I need a dash kit for my 2007 VeraCruz GLS. The radio is being replaced at Besty Buy but they do'nt carry the kit any longer. I went to Metra but their kit for the 2007 Vera Cruz only fits the Limited with Automatic Temp Control.
I looked online and I can't find one. does anyone here have any information that can help me. I don't want to go for the 300-500 wood replacement...just a basic kit so I can put a new radio so I can use my Ipod.
I do'nt want an FM mod, they suck. I don't want the Unversal product because the installer at Best Buy said that they get returned all the time because they die.
any help will be appraciated. I am tired of paying for Sirius radio.

I know but I was concern with matching the exact black color. I was able to reuse the factory bracket but I had to drill new holes on the side of the radio. What I did was mount the radio bracket to the in dash template and slide the radio all the way in. Once I have the radio inserted then I marked the hole to be drilled.

Hope you faired well with Sandy, prayers go out for all affected by her. I received my final bits today and started to build the adapter harness. Had to get another harness adapter with similar pins in order to complete the hook-up for a speed sense input, steering wheel controller and USB jack (OEM). The Metra harness only comes with minimal pig-tail connections especially for the red connector. Also, did you connect the antenna power to the adapter harness? And finally, where did you mount the GPS antenna and microphone? Thanks.

I am fine except for not having power since Monday night. It will take 5+ days to restore power. Luckily, I have a generator but I do have to find a gas station with electricity. As for your question, I did drill into the head unit but I did make sure there is nothing behind to be damaged. I did not use the antenna power. I mounted the GPS antenna on the right hand side of the dash need the windshield. You can fish the GPS wire by removing the door weather stripe and fish the wire behind the glove compartment. As for the microphone, I mounted it right on top of the rearview mirror and hiding the wire in the roof liner.

Glad to hear thing are semi-normal, unfortunately not the case for many souls. I'm planning on mounting the mic at the top of the A-pillar trim and will try the GPS antenna just forward of the unit but covered by the dash (will see how much it's affected). My next option would be where the automatic climate control sensor is located (dummy sensor to the right of the Auto head-light sensor). I'm also making a USB adapter harness that will plug into the head-unit rear USB cable and interface with the OEM USB jack. May have the harness finished tomorrow and hopefully have the unit installed late Thursday-Early Friday. Will post photos of my progress.

A bit more progress this afternoon. Spent most of my time fitting the head-unit to the OEM radio bracket. Mounted the GPS antenna beneath the dash (forward of the radio between the center panel vent ducts), after a quick drive.... no problems with satellite reception.

I did not brother to hook up the USB from the radio to the cars as the position where they placed the USB is terrible. You have to remove the thumb drive each time if you want to close the compartment door. I have the USB from the radio accessible through the glove compartment.

I agree with the poor placement of USB jack, I really don't use a thumb drive so it was more for the challenge. My kids uses the port more with their iTouch so it's less of a hassle than hidden compartments. I spent many hours trying to get the unit to perfectly align with the dash-kit opening where there were no visible gaps but finally made a black foam trim ring to solve this issue. I still have to connect the reverse signal input so that the unit will attenuate the volume when reversing (reverse camera is displayed on my rear-view mirror and will most likely keep it that way, no plans to display the image on the Nav). Dash is back together and I'll take some photos when the sun rises.:D

i also had the same probleam about no fit the probleam i found is the radio them selfs. i bought 2 radios one had exposed bottons on each side with a knob on each side.then the other was a flat screen with no exposed knobs.if you measure the inside of the temp;ate it should be 7" from end to end.the radio with the knobs is a 6.2" screen and the flat screen is also 6.2.the measurements of both radios were 178mm x100mm x 80.theone with the knobs is 71/8 x7 x4 the other is 7x7x4. thay didnt take in the fact of the bottons or knobs bring exposed to a exter 1/8 of a inch.its the ra dio you choose to put in.

I'm buying my dad a new radio set up for fathers day. He has a 2007 gls with the base radio and manual a/c controls. I'm looking at this kit 2007 2012 Hyundai Veracruz Complete Radio Install Dash Kit Manual A C PKG397 | eBay , but the poster says the harness only works with the premium system. Anyone know which harness I need to buy to work with the base system?
The harness image is correct but the part number isn't, you require the HY11B. See: http://www.hyundai-forums.com/196-v....com/196-veracruz-forum/131871-replacing-radio-need-dash-kit-4.html#post1161860, http://www.hyundai-forums.com/196-v....com/196-veracruz-forum/131871-replacing-radio-need-dash-kit-9.html#post1172729 and http://www.hyundai-forums.com/196-v....com/196-veracruz-forum/131871-replacing-radio-need-dash-kit-4.html#post1161888 for the factory harness and base radio in my 2012. Note, you can only be 100% certain by removing the radio to confirm what's installed, there can be many versions of base head-units used by Hyundai.

Now that most have sorted out the radio issues, I'm gonna mess it up by asking, anyone add in 3rd row speakers, either in the panels or surface mount? I don't need the sub back there thumping on one person's ears, but want to tap into the 2nd row seats wires to add 3rd row 3 ways..so , Lemme know what you have done..Or am i the guinea pig on this one?
Not scared to pull it apart, just don't wanna break anything just yet..

I have a '07 Veracruz Limited with the 6 CD changer and Infinity sound system (but not the full entertainment system). Can anyone confirm that I can add an after-market stereo and still use the Infinity amplifier+speakers? I seem to get conflicting information on this. Crutchfield says that I'll have to bypass the amp and wire the speakers directly myself. Other places I read that you can use the amp you just have to use the low-power outputs from the new stereo as inputs.

Does anyone have direct experience doing this that they could share?

thanks,
steve

In case anyone cares, I did eventually get this to work. I'll give brief details here; if someone wants more you can ping me and I can provide the gory wiring details and pictures if necessary.

I ended up using the following:

-JVC double DIN receiver (KW-R910BT, not that it matters that much)
-Scosche HY1629B faceplate (my Veracruz has the manual climate controls)
-Scosche HY07B harness connector (x2, to steal some pins for extra wires)
-iDataLink Maestro SW (for steering wheel connector)

The first three items (less the second harness connector) I bought on eBaby as a package from Volaudio, who also provided much needed technical support for the installation.

Everything pretty much went according to plan with the exception of the fact that I needed to pick up three extra wires out of the factory harness: one to provide power to the factory amp and two to connect the steering wheel controls. So, rather than hack or tap into the factory harness, I ordered a second HY07B connector and stole three pins out of it to move to the harness that I was using. As I said, if anyone wants more details on the pin locations let me know and I can provide it.

Now everything works like from the factory.

I have a 2011 base Veracruz and just received my I datalink masterosw(for steering wheel controls) and the meta wiring kit.

I am putting in a kenwood ddx372bt double din and was looking at the install note for the idatalink it talks about wires in the vehicle side in Connector A ( I think it was the sw1).

Anyone know what connector A is?

Thanks
Tony

I got an off-forum reply from stcochran63

"Here's a shot at what I remember.

First is from the service manual; it shows the pinout of the P24 connector that the radio needs to connect in to. (VeracruzWiring.jpg)

Second is a picture of the wiring connector in the car. From what I remember, the gray wire, third from the lower left in the picture, needs to be wired through to the power wiring from the radio head unit. (VeracruzHarnessSide.jpg)

Third is the HY07B connector that I used on the Radio side. You can see the extra wire that I added (it's in the back on the upper side; a blue wire coming through to the front). This would have connected to the gray wire in the car-side wiring harness. (VeracruzRadioSide.jpg)

Once I had that connected, everything started working.

Of course the steering wheel controls where another step. Not complicated, but it took a bit to figure out.

Let me know if you need more information. Hope this helps!"

Hey everyone, I know I'm late to the party but I'm gonna give my question a try. A couple years ago I bought a 2010 VC GLS, figured it was time to have fun and mod it. Installing a 2 din Android gizmo. I'm prepping up to make sure I go in, do it, get out and no more fuss. So like everyone else, the SWC question. I've followed along and pretty much know what to do. But I do have two questions. In the below post what are you hooking up? (It leads into my second question) Because, you mention the grey wire, this corresponds to 6 Remote control. I notice that there is also a 14 Steering remote control. For SWC which one is for what? And did everyone ultimately use for SWC? Thanks.
