Hello,
I need a dash kit for my 2007 VeraCruz GLS. The radio is being replaced at Besty Buy but they do'nt carry the kit any longer. I went to Metra but their kit for the 2007 Vera Cruz only fits the Limited with Automatic Temp Control.
I looked online and I can't find one. does anyone here have any information that can help me. I don't want to go for the 300-500 wood replacement...just a basic kit so I can put a new radio so I can use my Ipod.
I do'nt want an FM mod, they suck. I don't want the Unversal product because the installer at Best Buy said that they get returned all the time because they die.
any help will be appraciated. I am tired of paying for Sirius radio.

The opening on the dash-kit measures 6 7/8" X 3 7/8", most head-units have a trim-ring installed for installation from the front but can be removed for behind the trim installation. The actual size that protrudes when installed is usually small enough to allow placement in the dash-kit opening. That being said, there is always the exception to the rule. You can always do some light trimming of the dash-kit to accommodate the difference.

I tried my Pioneer AVH-P3100DVD unit (body 178mmX100mm, face 171mmX97mm) on the kit and physically in the dash void to confirm that the unit will fit and align with the opening in the dash-kit. I'm planning to get one of the Kenwood DNX series Nav units in the future. What make/model unit did you purchase?

Yes, you are right. I did dropped by an auto sound installation center and checked out the Kenwood DNX 6990HD. I actually bought the dash kit with me and have them try it out. I will go for the Kenwood as you suggested.

That's funny, the DNX 6990HD is the exact unit I have in mind for myself/spouse. I like the menu set-up, the Garmin base navigation with photo junction-view/life-time traffic and volume knob. I've owned a few portable Garmin units and therefore very familiar with the menus/operations, it's also very easy to obtain and install map updates. I may purchase a re-manufactured unit off of eBay to keep cost down even-though it will void the great two year warranty. Now...... just have to wait until I can afford one.:D:D Hope you post some pictures if you do get one or even a different unit installed. Good-luck!!!!!

Thanks, will leave as is. Just trying to mimic the look of the factory installed Alpine Nav Unit, that dash-kit has a black finish surrounding the face. Picked up a JVC KW-NT300 Nav unit today but awaiting harness adapters and Axxess Steering Wheel Audio controller to complete the installation. I originally was interested in a Re-manufactured Kenwood DNX-6990HD unit from an ebay seller but was able to purchase the JVC unit on sale for $790 including tax. The Kenwood would have cost approx $750 with the shipping/duty and with a shorter warranty from the seller. Also having to pay additional shipping/duty if warranty work was ever required would also increase the over-all cost. Both units have similar features and provide an easy task of updating the maps and software/firmware.

I purchased a re-manufactured Kenwood DNX-6990HD unit from an ebay and should be coming in tomorrow. I will be installing over the weekend. Here is what I have.
Harness adapters
Axxess Steering Wheel Audio controller
In Dash kit
Wireless rearview camera

The only issue I have now is the silver colored in dash kit where the original factory dash kit is black.

I saw from your earlier picture you have the radio secure to the in dash face plate. How do you secure the radio from the inside once you inserted into the dash?
It's not secured to the dash-kit, the panel is just propped against the head-unit to demonstrate how the unit fits into the opening. The unit will be mounted to the dash structure with the factory radio brackets.

Once I received my radio later today, I will try to see if the factory bracket will fit. Otherwise, it is going to be a pain to secure it to the dash and make sure it lines up with the opening on the dash kit. By the way, how do you attach the pictures? When I click the pic button, it is asking for an URL of the pictures.

You can upload pictures using "Manage Attachments" in the "Additional Options" field located below the "Reply to Thread" area. In the Manage Attachment window, select the browse tab to locate and select the photo, after making the selections, just hit the upload tab and the photos will be attached to you comments when you submit your response.

Does anyone have the schmetic of the back of a audio unit that includes the factory navigation? the HMA website doesn't have this pictured. It shows the GLS radio, the infinity 6CD radio and the RSE radio. what i don't see is the radio that is part of the navigation. i found a factory infintiy radio and would like to replace the navigation unit i have...but wasn't sure of the connector(s) in the back and if they are compatible.

i believe this is the factory Infinity 6CD radio..

and yes, i could remove my current radio to find out...but, i was hoping not to tear into the dash if i have no reason to. besides, looking at the connectors...they are pretty much the same size...but have different specific functions.

I just got my Kenwood. I will do the installation tomorrow. Anyone knows how to connect the the reverse sensor wire to the vehicle's reverse lamp harness? Is it in the fuse box where I don't have to run the wire to the rear.
Locate the Lower Right 39pin connector (one of six) situated on the lower face of the Interior Fuse Panel (area above the hood release lever). You can use a wire tap on either pin27(Blue wire) top row far right or pin15(White wire) second row, second in from the far right. All directions are reference looking toward the front of the vehicle. You will most likely have to remove the panel below the steering column for access. Confirm that it is a reverse signal wire with a volt meter if possible.
