Removing Rear Door

I have a large Victrola to deliver to NYC and surprisingly I find that it just about makes it into the back seat IF I remove the rear door; is this feasible? I will place a large sheet of foam core board along the back and seat. Am I opening up a can of worms by removing the 4 bolts? It looks easy enough. Does the large wire loom unsnap or pull out or what? What about the door check? I think it has a bolt too. I have 120 miles on my new Elantra Limited and so far I love it.

Any latte-sipping Prius owner can go online to engage in conversation about global warming, but it takes a real man to ask for tips on ripping the door off his brand-new car so he can haul some cargo.

Lonemalt, you should sign up for a free account with hmaservice.com. There you will find exploded parts diagrams and disassembly instructions galore.

Good luck, and for God's sake fasten your seatbelt. :57:

Yeah this one is definitely hall of fame.. lol
Like the other guys said, rent a small truck or suv for the day $40 and you're done. You are definitely opening a can of worms that can easily be avoided.
