My previous 2 cars came with remote start off the assembly line.

HYundai doesnt have this and I miss it.

Has anyone with a Canadian 2014+ Elantra installed a remote start?

I say Canada cause of the immobilizer situation for us.

If so what did you install and where?

I dont want to change security system or play with locks I want my car to remain as is but also remote start.

Hyundai does not offer a factory remote starter but the dealer does sell one for the car. When I purchased mine I had them add in the remote start to the bill.

Now the immobilizer may be an issue but probably not.

Does your cars factory alarm, locking horn etc work the same as before the install?

Would you be able to tell me the model number of the starter and immobilizer used? seeing as your elantra is canadian too ide feel safe using what someone has already tried. Thanks

Also does your factory key fob still allow door lock and unlock while car is running from being remote started?

Someone I know has a remote start in his elantra and when the car remote starts much like when i start mine using a key the door locks dont respond to the remote.

If anyone needs to install a remote start into a 2014 2015 or 2016 Elantra here is the wiring with pics on the Elantra!

Hyundai Elantra 2014-2016 Remote Start wiring with pics

I haven't done mine yet but Im sure this info is correct. Had to use the serial number from a remote starter to enter the manufacturer site to get this.

This is alot of info, basic remote starts will not need all the connections. This has everything for remote starting, locking, bypass module every wire you would need to find if installing remote start or security or bypass.

enjoy

Maybe this should get put somewhere it will remain??

When I do my install Ill try and video it.

If you have Hyundai BlueLink and has subscription with them you can do remote start with your phone. Car will run for about 10min before it shuts down. I used it while I still had trial for it.

@ZAC1 you could look for it under dash if you are curious.

I am waiting for my DBALL2 with latest flash to come in and my 4103 LX unit. will have remote start with replacement fobs for fullfunction in 1 fob. will take 10 min to install the way Im configuring. When I get around to doing this I will be video taping it. The combo I chose using D2D should be a half hour install minimal connections and a good solution. Ill post it on this forum in case someone else wants to do it,

My current total cost for bypass, remote start and keyfobs that control all (will no longer need OEM remotes) $140 US

THe brand for everything is DEI same ppl that make the OEM Hyundai units plus many other oems... Im excited to make a written and video DIY of this.

@Ohiojack2010 Most remote starters allow you to program certain features. Look under your dash find out which remote starter you have post here Ill get you your manual. Also see if you find a wire with a button on it or a button on the unit.

Most starters will have a setting between lights full on or lights flash, some have a off option too.

If there is no off option you could disconnect the one wire that sends the power to the lights from the remote started, I can supply a picture to where this wire is if you like.
