Weird why Hyundai handles this differently in Canada. I only got a letter to make appointment, no picture. But I made appointment anyway to lump the rim clear coat peeling.and ISG TSB together. I have no hitch and nothing connected to the harness, so nothing to be done.

Different governmental bodies, since recalls are a "national" issue. It's government, expect it to be a snafu and non-sensical.

 

So simple to know if there is a problem or not once letter received. Why couldn't this have been clarified before today?

Got the letter today... but Hyundai forgot to add a 'figure 4', with an aftermarket hitch + aftermarket 4-pin wire harness. There are several other options, but a critical one for this recall is an aftermarket hitch + Hyundai 4-pin wire harness, and it's not listed either. Guess will mark the 'Not Equipped' square, cross out (figure 2 or 3), and write down my combination.

Done. Don't think anything was done because there are no finger prints on that plastic cover. As others stated, most lightly no hitch, check.

 

This only applies if you had the Hyundai hitch installed. I do not have any hitch on my vehicle, so it does not apply. Got a postcard from Hyundai today that asked if I had it installed. If no, then they remove your car from the list.

 

I took my 2019 Santa Fe in for the anti theft install. The service writer also said there was a recall on the trailer wiring harness. I told him I did not have a hitch installed. He said that sometimes the factory installed the wiring harness anyway, so the lack of a hitch didn't necessarily mean I didn't have the harness. The inspection revealed that I did not have the harness, and the recall was cancelled on my Santa Fe. So you might want to check with your dealer whether or not you have a hitch.

 

I took my 2020 SF for the hitch wiring harness issue. I knew there was something wrong with my car as the Auto engine off on when coming to a stop stopped working. Once I received my car back from the dealer with whatever fix was implemented my Auto engine off on is now working.

 

We took our 2021 Santa Fe to the dealer for this recall 3 months ago in May 2023. We were told the part for our vehicle is on back order and we have not yet had the recall completed. The paint on our car is getting destroyed by fallen tree branches and the neighborhood animals that have been on it. Has anyone had their vehicle repaired yet?

 

So you are saying that have not used the car since, you just parked it and leave it sit ?

That little recall didn't chnge anything for me when it came out, I still kept driving my SF every day as needed, it's not like it's gonna blow up in your face😂
What I did was remove the tow fuse, even though I don't even have the tow wiring, I don't need power to go back there, so I removed the fuse.

 

How many recall notices do we have to receive about this? I mailed back the postcard saying my car does not have a hitch, and yet today I get an email to bring the car in. NTSB site lists it. I don't have a trailer hitch. Just recently had a dealer performed oil change. Can't these people get their heads screwed on right?
