Just wondering if there is a difference between the 2.4 (4 speed) and the 3.3 (5 speed) engines/transmissions, as to the ratio between engine speed and car speed.

This morning I was cruising at 80 mph and my RPM was steady at 2,750. Is this what others here are getting, both with the I-4 and V6 cars?

Enemies?  You mean the V-6 guys here?  They're just jealous because thay can't achieve the gas mileage we I4 owners get and we can still go FAST.  :gitara:  Passes semis like a dream I might add.  :bwekk:

I'm perfectly satisfied with the mileage I get with my V6. Come back and talk to me when you beat an average of 36.5 miles for a 630-mile-range full tank of gas, then maybe I'll be jealous.

Here we go again... I got 34 driving two hours at 65-70mph. And the weather was drizzly all the way... So I could EASILLY get it to 36.5 and better, driving the way you drove, mc, at 55, no A/C with the Cruise Controll on.

But why trust me? It's just a matter of pure LOGIC, no? If a 3.3L V6 engine can get you 36.5 mpg, does it need rocket science to expect a 2.4L I4 to get you MORE?

You've been baiting me all day, trying to get me to respond...figured I'd just give you what you wanted and be done with it. I got sick of watching the two of you casting about like that with your little wriggly worms.

I4  6000 RPM = 121 MPH

Math Quiz -
If you left central MT heading east at 121 mph and I left western ND heading east at, oh say 130mph, how long would I run out of gas before you? :bwekk:

Jealous? Heck Yes!! I just can't seem to pull over 24 mpg unless I stay under 65 mph with a tailwind! :bwekk: :bwekk:

So let's be friends again, mc, let's compromise, here is my resolution: The V6 is slightly more powerful than the I4, and the I4 (though plenty powerful) is more economical than the V6, and it looks sexier.

See, I'm a man of peace. I love all men who drive the Sonata. I'm a true saint.

1. I don't fish. :w00t:

2. Come on Mama the V-6 is way more powerful than the 4.

3. I can work both sides of the fence. :whistling:

4. If we don't stop this hatter will close this one too. :57:

I was just having fun as I'm sure Mama was.

IMO that if we had a V6 powder white pearl when I bought my car and they were the same price I probably would have opted for the 6. :innocent:
