I had a deposit on a hold over 2011 SE 2 door 5-speed. I caught a ride to the dealership that was 200 miles away. The dealership was closing in 45 minutes so I didn't have allot of time. I checked for hail dings, took it for a test drive, did the paperwork and off I went. I followed the break in procedure in the owners manual and had a flawless 200 mile drive home. Managed 38 mpg driving 55 mph.

Questions:

1. For those owning a 2011 SE does your car have the overhead map lights with sunglass holder counsel located between the sun visors? It is listed on my window sticker, but it's not there. Just the headliner material. For overhead lights, I only have the dome light dead center in the headliner and the two visor lights one under eash sun visor.

2. Any recommendationsmandtions for all weather rubber floor mats. I have wethertelinersr lineres in another car and like them.

3. Do the factory mud flap guards have holes in them that match the srews in the wheel well area, or do you have to drill new holes to install them?

4. Has anyone installed a head block heater (frost plug heater) for winter use? Which freeze plug did you use?

Thanks for any advice you can give me.

Hi Congratulation and welcome to the forum!

To answer your question (I do own a Canadian 2011 Accent L (I think it can be compared to SE) The equipment might be a little different let's see some other reply to compare )

1- Yes I do have the Overhead Map light and a sunglass Holder

2- http://www.hyundaiparts4u.com/Scripts/prod...dproduct=300833 OR weathertech Floorliner mats http://www.weathertech.ca/store/mvproduct....ptChoiceIds=914 pricey too

3- I don't have Mudflup can't answer that :(

4- No Block heater ...

I didn't need to do any drilling to the splash guards on my 4-door. I believe the 3-door is similar. You might need a screwdriver that will allow for reaching the rear screws as clearance between the tire and fender is minimal... You can always jack it up and remove the wheel (one member here only had to jack up the rear and he was able to get clearance.)

I had the mudflaps on my Accent 3 door. I took them off when I lowered it, but there were no extra holes for them; they used holes that were already being used to hold up the inner wheel arches and bumper stuff. It took me about half an hour to take them all off, it will probably take you about the same amount of time to put them on. You have to jack the car up though, the smallest stubby screwdriver just barely couldn't fit between the mudflap and the tire.

Thanks for the info! I will order the factory mud flaps guards!

So far one person (thanks Jim) has responded that they don't have the overhead map lights with sunglass holder in their 2011 SE 2-door for US market. I am trying to figure out if it's just a misprint in the catalog and window sticker, or did
the factory just forgot to install it in the assembly line. I will contact my local dealer and the selling dealer this week. I may even call Hyundai to get to the bottom of it. I am also thinking that it would be very easy to install it. The wire
harness should be there, so one would only need to cut the headliner. The part is about $90 US.

So anyone else with a 2011 US market SE 2-door, do you have or don't have the overhead counsel with the two map lights and sunglass holder?

I like the weathertech mats.... I did notice that my drivers side has two hook holder things (one on the passanger side) but the picture in the link only shows one hook holder thing on the drivers side.

Yet more questions:

1. I notice that my factory floor mats have two hooks/anchors on the drivers side and only one on the passenger side. Is this an issue or not? All the expensive all weather mats show only 1 hook on the driver’s side. Are you able to remove the extra hook/anchor thing so that the mat will lie flat over the second hook?

2. Any one else with a 2011 SE? Do you have the overhead map light counsel?

3. Anyone paint their factory mud guards?

Thanks for the info!!!!

No clue about the all weather ones, but I really have to hand it to Hyundai on their floor mat design. My floor mats have never once come out of place.

It's normal to have 2 hooks for the driver mat and only 1 for the passenger. I think the extra hook is there for the driver side to make sure the mat doesn't get loose and cause problems like Toyota had.

As for the map light/sunglass holder, I believe Hyundai deleted this on the SE, along with the sunroof, for 2011. I looked at a 2011 SE on my dealer's lot earlier this year and it did not have it. However, the window sticker is supposed to be an accurate representation of what's on the car so you might have a case to make Hyundai install it at their expense.

I actually complained to the dealership today. They are 200 miles from me, so I e-mailed them a scan of the window sticker. They have a call into Hyundai and will get back to me. Other than this one issue, the whole sales process was great! I am going to try to get them to install the overhead counsel/map lights/sunglass holder. I am thinking that the harness is up there, but I havent pulled the headliner down yet. The part itself is only $90 online. One would only have to cut the headliner, as long as the wire harness is up there.

Glad to see a Dealer "make it right" without having to be brow-beaten into it. BUT, you shouldn't feel too bad about the money the Dealer put out to get the parts. For one, they don't pay NEARLY the List for parts (but you do, if you buy from them). AND, they probably got Corporate (i.e. Hyundai NA) to foot a substantial part of the bill, if not the entire thing.

Sounds like you have a "Good Dealer", in any case.
