Performance Chips do work.

I wouldn't order one from anywhere. Just go to a shop that tunes and chips Sport Compacts. They will have the chip and the dyno, everything you need.

The thing is, we have hyundai Sonatas....Not Mustangs or Camaros. There isnt going to be much your gonna squeeze out of them (I would guess). Not to mention who knows how much the engine and tranny can take with the added power will come more stress on engine and trans.

Do you really think you are going to gain 75 hp for $8.95 ?

If there are any legitimate performance parts available for the 3.3 L Sonata they would be sourced from Korea . I'll see if i can find a link .

Don't worry about the engine/tranny holding more hp , they will probably be good for close to double the stock number . What would that be , 180-190 hp to the wheels ?

edit : adding links

Sounds like snake oil to me....it sounds too good to be true.

Anyone use one like?

if it sounds too good to be true, it generally is. A lot of ebay "chips" are nothing more than a resistor telling the ECU that the engine is colder than it really is so that it injects more fuel, i know people that did the same thing but they bought a wide variety of resistors or used a rheostat so that they could 'tune' it for their needs. I prefer the tunability of cracking the OBD2 ECU or using something like the Greddy E-manage.

Performance chips, yes
Ebay junk, no.

The engine block and transmission are the same, or very very close to the same as used in the Azera, so they can definitely handle more power than stock.
Also, keep in mind that the Sonata is rated for towing... any car that can tow can Definitely handle more power.

Well for one..i wanna say that the lil ebay "chips" DO work for about 2 mins haha..then the engine realizes..hey wtf is this new **** on me..and just pretty much just goes back to normal. Unless you wanna spend in the $500's for a GOOD chip..dont go on ebay.

and btw..i seen you wanted one for your ram. I used to own a durango that a did a buncha stuff too. You need to get Superchips module. <<< AWESOME!! You could prolly see like 20+ hp with that thing in the extreme setting and maybe 2-4mpg on the low setting. Look it up on google. I remember i wanted to get one but the way gas was..i didnt wanna waste anymore money on it. So i bought a sonata :D
