P0302 Misfire cylinder 2 - pulling my non existent hair out!

Hi all,

I’ve got a Tucson 2007 2.0L with 286000kms on it. It is throwing a P0302 code and idles a bit rough. At the same time when you steer while idling the belt screeches (not sure if these two issues are related).
I have installed new plugs, leads and coil packs and the DTC keeps appearing after a while and the car is having the same stutter.

I have also moved the injector that was in cylinder 2 to cylinder 1 but the car keeps throwing P0302. So I’m assuming that means it’s not an injector problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Your intake manifold gasket is cracked/broken.

To verify, leave idle, spray some carb spray / brake cleaner/ water squirter bottle along seam where intake mate to head. If cracked, you'll know when liquid get sucked in.

Ok thanks. What happens when the liquid gets sucked in?

Brake clean is your best bet. What will happen is will suck it down and the idle of the engine will speed up. You should be able to hear the difference.
Also check to see that wiring to fuel injector on number 2 is all good.
