yes, may be there is a problem in the plastic switch in the tail gate.

 

Are there any known fixes to this. My light would come on like this when enver it rained then one day it quit coming on. Now though I think the sensor is burned out or something because it doesnt come on if the rear door is open nor does the dome light. They do work if any other door is open.
