Many people do not realise that Hyundai U.S.A. have provided a free online Workshop Manual for all the Hyundai models that are sold in America.

To use this click :-
http://www.hmaservice.com/
Register (Internet Explorer required).....log-on, using the password they email to you, click `Service Information` & enter your car`s details & click the `Shop` tab.

It might be an idea to bookmark this to your favourites........& remember you can print off sections (or the whole manual!) as required.

Cheers,
Nick.

Good day

nice website for the tech manuals but does any have an idea, if these manuals would work on Hyundai Accents sold in South Africa..

I have browsed through the website already, and a lot of it looks familiar to my car but not sure how relevant some of the technical details are.

regards
Craig

web link doesnt work.

all that comes up is this...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WebTech is the online version of the InfoTech service information system used by Hyundai. From the top of the screen, please select the publication contents you would like to view.
Next, make your vehicle selection. Note that the more narrowed down your choices are, the shorter the time it will take to display the contents. Selecting the vehicle model and year will automatically populate the contents pane with publication contents for chosen vehicle.
If you would like to conduct a word search on document index information, click Search in the upper right and the Search pane will appear. Type search terms and select the publications to search in (defaults to all), then click Search.

Just tried the link & it`s fine for me! (I use it several times per day).........I do know it only works on Internet Explorer though. Try another p.c., maybe at work, where you can sneakily print the whole Manual for your car off!!.

This Manual was put up by Hyundai U.S.A. & nothing else like it is available anywhere else.

The differences between U.S. & U.K./South African cars are quite small........mostly higher levels of emission-control (to cover Californian laws).......
also some U.S. cars have MAP sensors where we have MAF`s (& vice versa).

I hope you get hooked-up,
Nick. :57:

Hi Nick:

It's been a day now and I have not received my PassWord to enter the site you mentioned for online manuals.

I noticed the site uses IE only, I use FireFox BUT if you add an extention called IEview, it will work.

While in FireFox right mouse and pick "View this page in IE".

Same here. I registered 3 times with 3 different E-Mail addresses and still haven't got that important username and password. Have they stopped taking new members or can't I register from England.

Hold that last post. I've just clicked on the forgot password link and entered my E-Mail address and got my password almost immediately.

Hi,

I can't get the 'Service Information' link to work. Could someone go into the main index of available manuals (or contents page for 1999 Hyundai Coupe 1.6 SE manual) and copy the URL for me? Then I can follow the links from there.

Thanks for your help.

Best wishes,

John :)

Sorry John.......Webtech will be useless for your 1.6 Coupe (Tiburon) as the Yanks didn`t get that engine......& it`s a Hyundai U.S.A. site

To add to the confusion, some U.K. 1.6`s have the Alpha engine from the Accent, whilst others have a 1.6 version of the Beta engine normally fitted to the 4-cylinder Coupe`s!.

Unfortunately There is no Haynes manual for the Coupe either.

Ive used that manuall a year or two ago and since then I got rid of windows! I use linux and have firefox so it would seem im out of luck :( If anyone would be trusting enough to share their user/pass with me so I can see if it works that would be awesome. Or if any one would crawl the website with something like 'wget' I would gladly edit it so that a user/pass isnt required and host the mirror of it. I even emailed hyundai and complained asking for a backup of their stuff or for them to make it accessable for more people and they said no to both!

It looks like the manuals are no longer available online. Is there another source available, or a workshop manual I can buy. I tried Haynes manuals but they do not have one available (I was told) and cannot find any other manual. eBay search shows up a few manuals, but I do not trust buying anything there, too many ripoffs.

I have some details on the Accent running up to the present (On DVD) ...... The data is only good for US cars & starts at 1500cc ......... Not much use to me having a 1.3 :(

PM me if your interested :)

hi guys, new here, but i own an accent from some time and i use the online manual at HMAservice.
i use it with explorer and i went through the last 3 versions of it without any trouble. The first page its a little misleading so thats why some might think that it doesnt work, my only problem its that some pics dont show up and even trying to go directly on the pic it looks like its not even in the site.

At this point my only question is: how do i save (or at least print out) the whole manual? (seeing how things go i wonder for how long it will be up for free so i prefer getting the whole thing now while i can)

Do yourself a favor Go buy the manual . In the long run it will save you money The manuals cost me $45 I got the ETM also a deal considering how much time it saves troubleshooting . I'm also going to add that investing in one of those Equus ODB II code readers also a must . Guess work is history!!
