Installed digital monitor with alarm. It'll watch oil pressure too put I haven't found the oil pressure sender yet to connect that.

Installed it on the fuse panel cover using Velcro. Cigar lighter powered for now.

Hi Hwitten, why you don't use a Bluetooth obd2 adapter(15$ ebay) and the torque apps(free) on a cell phone? this way you can have all the info you want and a lot more! It tell's you all the engine parameter and more, you can even see codes and erase them.....
You can also have the intake boost(for those with the 2.0T!!):D

Cool.
I got mine yesterday and played with it a little, it's awesome, much better than any $300 tuner I bought in the past.
did a 0-60 run to try it, in my wife's Kia since I don't have a SFS yet, DA 3650, intake temp 136, coolant temp 188, ran 10.7sec.
Easy to use, love it.
For those who don't know, app is $5, [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-CAN-BUS-Diagnostic-Windows-Android/dp/B009RLB4Z8/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1370097590&sr=8-4&keywords=torque+app+obd2+adapter"]adapter[/ame] is $17.

i only used it on my nissan rogue so far, and since the OBD adapter stays on all the time, i do unplug it. (i even tried the option on the tprque app to autop shut off the adapter- it still doesnt)

which adapter did you get? i have this one:

I would imagine these devices are available at most auto parts stores? What is the proper terminology I should use to go in and purchase what I need? Still learning here. :)

#23 ·
wow sorry, must have missed this post. sorry homie lol

no these bluetooth devices are not available in any of my local stores, so i doubt your area will have them. you can search on ebay or amazon for "ELM" "bluetooth obd" "ELM327" "bluetooth diagnostic scanner tool" etc. here is a start: elm | eBay

what you are looking for is a bluetooth OBDii(2) adapter. the smaller the better.

nope. greedy apple made their bluetooth proprietary. the only thing that works for apple products is kiwi

#22 ·
yes.
thats why we have an obd plug. mechanics use it to read gauges and use proprietary software to make adjustments.

I was under the understanding that the OBD II port looses its 5vdc within 30 seconds of the vehicle being turned off.
At least that is how it works on any of the vehicles that I plug my ScanGauge II onto.

obd scanner puchase [help me]

I need a OBD2 Scanner
that can read codes
and fuel pressure and fuel trim and etc.
I would like to connect with my labtop
or lcd screen on the scanner, so I can read value
during scanning.

Any recommanded scanner for it?
Price range = below 500 or slightly above.
Cheaper is better.

idk if you guys know, but TORQUE has a hyundai specific add-on: Hyundai Adv (OBD) for Torque

Monitor specific Hyundai parameters in real-time, including engine and automatic transmission advanced sensor data by adding this plugin to Torque Pro.Hyundai Advanced is a plugin for Torque Pro, extending the PID/Sensor list with more than 10 specific parameters from Hyundai vehicles, including:
* AT Turbine and Output Speed (*)
* AT Oil Temperature (*)
* AT Damper Clutch Lockup (*)
* AT HIVEC Mode (*)
* AT Current Gear (*)
* CVVT Oil Temperature
* Fuel Injector Pulse Width / Duty Cycle
* Knock Retard (*)
* Wastegate Duty Cycle (*)
* Turbo Boost Pressure (*)
Sensors marked with (*) are not available on all cars, as it depends on special engine/parts like Turbo and/or Automatic Transmission.
For cars with automatic transmission, Lockup is really cool to monitor during a long road trip or even while driving in the city. As described on Hyundai Service Manuals, the Damper Clutch Lockup shows in real-time the actual Torque Converter lockup percentage, and as it approaches 100% the slip should be near zero.

Not installing the hyundai specific add-on you still get the Trans Oil Temperature.
Would you know if the one you list "* AT Oil Temperature (*)" is something different or the same thing? Please see my screenshot (trans and engine temperatures).

My next towing will be in a few weeks. I am curious what kind of temperatures everyone is reading. What would be a normal temperature without and with towing?
