New iPhone 14 and SIRI not working through Sonata

I got the phone today. Deleted old phone from car. Paired the new phone. Calls come in, music plays by bluetooth, text message notifications, all show up.

When I press and hold the Voice button on the steering wheel, the radio display shows SIRI, but it only responds on the phone itself, not through the car.

I updated my previous phone, iPHone 13 Pro, on Monday to iOS 16. It continued to work though the car as it always had.

The new iPhone 14 Pro is iOS 16 too.

I deleted the new phone and re-paired it. Same results.

Am I missing something? Any ideas?

Did you do a full transfer (wireless phone to phone) when you upgraded? I know this will transfer all the little settings as well as your data. If not, there are a few settings that need to be set to allow an external device (the car) to access things like Siri© etc.

Let's start with just how you did the transfer (direct wireless, iCloud, through a MAC) and then we can set a baseline and start from there.

Ok, that did not restore some of your security and authorization settings. A peer to peer copy (phone-old -> phone-new) would have also moved over your authorization settings.

Go into the Siri© and CarPlay® sections and check to make sure that they authorize external access.

Sunspots?? Let's hope it still is good for you. Apple just released 16.1 beta to developers that also had some more fixes and adjustment to CarPlay®. Hopefully we'll see that in a few weeks.

Normally, I do phone-to-phone setup. I did not have time to do that. The phone said that would take 4 hours. It ALSO recommended iCloud transfer said it would take 15 mins. The 15 mins ended up being hours!

However, all is well now except for MS Outlook that I need for work. But, I will fix that tomorrow when I get to my office.

I am the IT Director of the organization. So, that fix will be simple. DUO is not recognizing the new device. Easy.
