Hyundai just announced a new model that fits between the SEL and the Limited.

No info yet as to what will be included, other that it will only be available with a black interior, so it may be a Blacked Out version.

But, here is the announcement.

That seems like good marketing, a trim level between SEL and Limited.

Personally the 2.5 vs 2.5T was a showstopper issue for me, Looks like the new trim will have the 2.5.

Because of the 8k gap from SEL to Ltd, which left many scratching their heads. You have to really get your head into the details to figure out that the gap consists of 4k worth of premium features/upgrades and 4k for the 2.5Turbo. A whole segment of buyers just tunes out when they see 8k for the next trim level and goes with the SEL, probably offered in a pretty basic version on the dealership lot, i.e. without some or most of the $4k in upgrades - so that's money left on the table for Hyundai. A trim that captures a few more $k from buyers who aren't going to buy the Ltd makes marketing sense.

Then you can be free to not buy any of the new models or the XRT and leave more for the millions of people that will.

What I'm saying is business 101: There is no way that Hyundai, or any company that understand business, will come out with a new model without making their profit margin no matter what the production costs are. I've been in manufacturing for over 30 years, and we've had lots of similar products, and guess what, every one sold just like the other and when we came out with a new one, it had a higher net profit margin and contributed to EBITDA.

If you don't know those terms, then I don't think you need to be commenting. What you seems to be saying is the Hyundai and all the multi-thousands of people that will buy the XLT are blabbering idiots. I'll take that profit margin day of the year.

I know those terms, and I don't know who appointed you the arbiter of who can comment and who cannot. But you clearly either did not read or did not understand my comments previously, which were made specifically responding to a post other than yours.

The XRT looks better than the the other trims to me, because it doesn't have all of the Faux metal plastic pieces that all the other SF's ( mine included) have. The fake brushed metal look is worse than chrome IMO. This trim is to be like the KIA Sorrento X-line, More ruggedness than Luxurious. And will probably outsell the Limited and SEL trims. AND let's be Honest, those are the BEST looking rims available for the 21+MY, of any trim.
