Hi Guys,

After over a month of waiting, finally received the Ksport coilover and having them installed by myself yesterday.

The process of installation is not hard, but require lots of patients as setting up the rear ride high is a little tricky due to separate spring/shock setup.

Anyhow, after 5 hours of work at my underground parking with limited tools. All the hard work pays off, it puts a big smile on my face as soon as I hit the road and take couple high speed turns.

Edit: Is it this one? (Ksport link)

yeah, I guess it s much easier than changing springs -- just in and out! Still, great job :)

You're right! Plus buying a set of lowering spring isn't cheap as well (about $300) and we all know our car have weak rear shocks, after upgrading to aftermarket rear shocks (about $200). People almost putting 50% worth of the coilover $$(My case $1200, but I know in the state is like $900) without getting near to coilover performance.

Thats how I figure to better go with coilover setup. :)

If you can afford it, it's *always* better go to coilover...Next year I might take the plunge if this trackthing continues with the GT, otherwise I'll leave it with the stock springs and KYBs. Getting plenty of function out of it as-is, and I'm not too concerned with looks.. I'd rather spend my hard-earned cash on GFB than look-good-bits.

This needs to go in the Consolidated Mods thread tho...unless I already did...will check.

Just a question that I hope is not too silly; is this kit just for lowering? I don't want to lower the car, just upgrade the fronts (I want a similar upgrade to the GT like the KYBs were for the rear). Or is there a more sensible upgrade for the front?

Awesome job. Will be interested to hear your review after they've been on the car a few weeks. I'm definitely sitting here a little jealous!

Looks like it has pretty usable camber adjustment as well...that alone would be awesome for a trackday.

wow fonch! That looks really sharp. How is the ride, I don't want the coil overs, but I would dig a 1 inch drop. Looks really good!

I wonder how much difference the body kit made. Still interested in ride quality though, if you could elaborate.

Also, are the wheels the original offset and backspacing? Look a little more flush with fender than what is stock.

The front grill is the classic one just plastidipped the chrome area, put an angled license plate holder and smoke plastic covering. The wheel are the originals one that came with the cars the rims are aftermarket, but maintain the same parameters as the original ones. The hide is a bite harder, but can be used daily with no problem at all for a better review of that Ill have to use it a bit longer and on tighter faster roads. The drop is aprox 1.5 inches the body kit makes it appear a bit lower.

A better pic of the grill

That's one nice ride! The lower stance looks great. If I was 40 years younger I'd be all over that. Appears I've reached a point in my life where I'm built for comfort and want my ride to compliment me in that category. Old bones don't like being jarred around. :wink2:
