Is there any way to display the digital speed?

Just picked up my 2022 Hybrid Limited yesterday. Loving the car so far, but I'm wondering if there is a way to display the digital speed on the 12.3" digital instrument cluster. I love the cool looking analog speedometer, but I'm hoping there is a way to display both an analog and digital reading simultaneously.

A tach seems like a reason request but please don’t upset Tex by shifting at redline.

Maybe you could educate us how the gauge on the right operates? Does the needle move like a tach, with engine speed, or does it reflect the accelerator pressure? Do you have a ”mode” dial? Have you tried other modes to see if you get a tach in one of them?

There is no option for a tach on my ’21 limited hybrid. You really need to drive it to understand how the right display works. The needle will be in the “Charge” section from 8 o’clock to 10 o’clock when you are coasting or breaking. Closer to 10 if you lift on the gas and closer to 8 when braking a red light. It will be in “Eco” between 10 and 2 for normal driving (both local roads & highway) and light acceleration while moving will move towards 2. The needle will be in “Power” between 2 and 4 when when accelerating from a stop, near 2 or when passing on the highway closer to 4.

The drive mode you select, Eco, Sport, Snow or Smart also affects the display.

You have a plug-in Santa Fe, or a different plug-in? That would be really weird if you could display a tach on the plug-in, but not on the hybrid. At any rate, I've tried everything I can think of, and I simply cannot find any way to display it on the Hybrid. If you change modes, it just changes the look/color of the displays, but the displays themselves remain the same.

I can totally understand people wanting to see the eco information, but it just seems so odd not to have the tachometer at least as an option when you have a digital instrument panel. All it would take is some added programming.

I guess they really don't put a tachometer on Hybrids because engine speed isn't really a direct relation to the vehicle speed. The engine is either charging the battery, providing energy to the electric motors, driving the wheels, or doing some combination of those.

I think manufacturers probably figured people would freak out and complain too much if they saw the engine speed in hybrids, so they just opted to delete the tach and replace it with the energy flow meter.

The Hybrid has around 2 miles of battery available to it. It's not like you're doing much on battery only.
I can understand it in a car like the Toyota with it's CVT system as the engine just shrieks no matter what speed it's doing.

Don't really understand why it would be available in the Plug-In and not the 'Mild' Hybrid, perhaps an update will give this functionality if enough issues are logged about the omission of this. I would not expect there to be any sensors omitted so it should be possible.

Received my PHEV yesterday and found where you can switch the Tachometer on in the settings. This allows you to link it to the Drive Mode setting, so it will come on for instance in 'Sport' but will give you the 'Economy Meter' in Eco mode. (Makes sense).

You can either search for 'Cluster' in settings or go into the Cluster Settings and hopefully 'Tachometer display' is available where you can run it on or off for different modes.

Hope this helps!
