I see a lot of our friends here buying Tucson for their wife's. I am thinking about getting a Tucson for myself but wondering if it is a women's car. Or is it the cross over segment women's? Please suggest. Thanks in advance.

just my $0.02 (canadian) worth. I hate this whole concept of women/chick cars.

Having said that, i am a guy and i drive my tucson with pride.

Not at all, but will be looking at one for the wife. I have always hated the stereotypes with cars. What you drive doesn't make who you are.

YES, completely a women's car. JK. It's a segment that probably has a higher ratio of women buying these cars then men. My reasoning is coming from that related to the family hauler. Most women buy SUVs or minivans as the family taxi. When It comes to downsizing because the big 8 passenger hauler is no longer needed they look at similar type vehicles with some fun factor. This segment is so hot right now it's crazy. That's why all the car manufactures are chasing this trend. Add on to of that, these are eco friendly vehicles.

I on the other hand have always driven sedans. Currently I'm driving a gas sucking rear wheel drive Hemi powered v8 Charger and love it.

Drive what you like. Who cares what people think.

They said the same thing on the Toyota forums sometimes, when I bought a fulled loaded Porsche Blue Metallic 04 Toyota Celica GTS TRD with adjustable HID lights. Which I still own and drive, now it's a classic lol. And the best part is if you put the seats down, you have enough space to haul stuff as well.

We get two mountain bikes in hatchback truck without scratching a thing on the car of the bikes, thick wool blankets and cardboard and great, removal of the front wheels, stack it all and off we go. We still love that car, hope the Tucson if we decide to keep it will be just as timeless and have even better space, for the same + a large dog :)

Actually, the Focus has had a dual clutch since the 2012 model.

it seems to be on a lot of lists of cars aimed at women

but for me it's all about if I like it. If it serves a function for me. I've often bought small cars, because small and light means better performance, though small cars are more associated with women, or at least they used to be. As women get older they used to buy the minivans and now they buy the cheaper suvs. Who cares? If you have a reason to get it, and it serves a function for you, who cares what other people think?

Curious ???

I'm teetering on the fence regarding the purchase of a new 2016 Tucson ECO base model. Has anyone regretted their choice?
I luv the all new style and test drove both a ECO and a 2.0 SE. The SE was ok but not my choice. I also drove a new Mazda C-X5 not crazy about the CVT trans. or body style in comparison.
Also did notice Turbo lag on the ECO but that would not be a deal breaker. Have same lag on my 2013 Ford Escape 1.6 turbo. probably normal with most.
One big concern I have is that the nearest dealer is 125 miles from home, service needed could be a problem.

I've have an ECO for about a month now with about 800 miles driven and I can't really complain at all! :grin2:

Yes, I got it to my wife basically for small size and all of these safety features. However, after I just drove 680km thru the rocky mountains, I want to get it to myself also.....It drives really well, highly fuel efficient, and I don't think that this is only for woman. Who decides so?! If you like it, what not to have it?! So man must drive only F1500 or hammer`s?
