I don't know about performance or efficiency changes, for me it's all about how it sounds.

And it sounds great.

There could be changes, the Injen dyno runs show power and torque gains but I've never bothered to confirm that one way or the other as I installed the CAI for pure aural enjoyment.

It doesn't snow much in Vancouver, the winter is quite mild here. But it rains...a LOT.

At the end of August when the rainy season starts I'll buy a hydro shield for the Injen just in case but I doubt that would protect the filter from snow and ice build up.

I was the first person to install this. No issues, no CEL, better mileage, cooler engine sound, no water intrusion and I have been through LARGE puddles on purpose to test if water can even get to that spot where the filter sits and nothing.

LOL was just digging them. I am sure we all ordered and installed around the same time give a week or two.

You only hear the throaty growl when you boot it, just driving around it's just about like any other Accent.

It also comes on when you downshift to overtake or merge and IMO it never gets annoying in the cabin...although they can hear you coming from a fair distance away in boot it mode.

If I remember correctly, IronmanRB201257 was the first one with the CAI. Echomatics was the first one with a catback.

why change to the turbokits.com veloster intake? trust me i am not saying its a bad idea, but just wondering why it would be better than the injen. i breifly checked it out on their website but do not conceptualize the difference right off hand.

i am still in my tiburon, but hope to be out of it and into the accent se in the next couple months and intake will be the first mod.

also, any reason to wait until 500 miles or so break in before changing out the intake? i've typically done that in my other vehicles but wonder if its even necessary.

I would wait at least until your first oil change. I think the only way I'd get the intake is if they come out with an aftermarket header and exhaust. I could get a sweet custom exhaust like echomatics did, but I'd like to wait and see if any companies think it's worthwhile. Maybe if we start a petition to Borla or something?

I have this saved on my eBay watch list cause I saw it went on sale for 190ish. I'll probably ask the seller if I drop by and pay cash, will he not charge me tax. :D

Just bought the Injen SP series cold air intake (black) for $198 at Auto Anything with a free Hydroshield. I installed it myself a week ago and personally I love it. My neighbor's actually do not mind the noise and actually enjoy it. (My previous car was a '94 Z28 and made them hate me.) Anyway, just had a major rain storm yesterday and could not see 3 feet ahead of me. I checked my engine when i got home and felt around the CAI holding area. Not one spot of water. This makes me happy to see. The hydroshield is a good bit of added protection. If you are thinking of not getting it because you want to see the "cool" filter at the end of the intake... dont bother! because if you get the CAI you wont be able to see it anyway. The holding area is not only water proof (dont hold me to that statement, but it seems true), but also is alot cooler then where the holding area for the SRI is. I also changed my oil with Hyundai's OEM Genuine oil filter and Quaker State Q Horsepower Ultra Durablilty Synthetic 5w-20 and have recorded a 3 MPG increase! Not sure which one did more.I checked this by traveling on the same road I recorded this before on I was going 55mph and recorder 46Mpg. Today, I recorded having 49MPG on the same road. This is not an official record, but I thought it may bring up interest.

Could be worse...When I got mine, I only got the short ram...AND IT CAME BENT... I thought you got that intake from turbokit? Whatever happened to that?

I cancelled on the turbokits intake because I preferred the design of the Injen. So I have to send back the IS1340 and they told me they don't have any SP1340's in stock...I'm going to have to wait like a week or two to get my money back to try again with a different company...

I really really like my turbokits intake I would definitely recommend it , not sure if its any faster but it seems like it doesn't struggle as much on hills

The tki intake has a snorkel off the end so it draws cold air from the fender well without the worry of your filter getting wet
