i40 creeps when clutch fully engaged

Hi there,

I have a 2015 i40 tourer 1.7 diesel.

I recently got the car and the guy said he just had the clutch replaced (showed me the invoice).

One day it became difficult to get into 1st gear and reverse, I can see this is a common issue.

The next day it got a lot worse, the part I haven't seen other people mention is the car creeps forward when in 1st gear and the clutch is fully down, same with reverse.

The service book also has mention of a clutch kit replaced at 100k miles, car is now at 130k.

Any advice appreciated before I bring it to mechanic!

Check clutch pedal rod movement. Hole in the clutch pedal rod wears and gets bigger, meaning youre not pressing the clutch in fully

You might need to replace master cylinder although I have just had a new clutch kit fitted including master cylinder and pressure regulator and bled numerous times and is the same as yours

Mine does this sometimes, rarely but it does do it.

I also sometimes have trouble getting the car into gear, as if the clutch isn't down properly. But it sorts itself out after and then everything works fine again. The cars a 61 plate and only needs to last another 6 years haha.
