When i plug a USB memory stick in with MP3's loaded, i get an Error - 08.

Would anyone be able to help? The service agents don't seem to know whats wrong.

hi

hope that this offers some help.

In the UK I10 the head unit is different but the manual does say that certain types of memory stick may not work. Try another memory stick of a different type and design and see if that helps. I managed to get my smartphone to work through the head unit but it did take me a few goes to work out how. Hope this is of some help:00000732:

hope this helps

Hi again. Got the manual for my I10 out of the car and here is some of the info regarding the USB port (its different from your unit but maybe it will help)

"when the formatted byte/sector setting of the external USB device is not either 512byte or 2048byte then the device will not be recognised"

"only use a USB formatted to FAT12/16/32"

"usb devices without USB I/F authentication may not be recognizable"

"some non-standard USB devices (metal cover type USB) can be unrecognisable)"

"music files protected by DRM (DIGITAL RIGHTS MANAGEMENT) are not recognizable"

if you would like me to scan the pages in and post them on here please just ask. I am off work at the moment so would give me something to do. Like i have said before its a different head unit in the UK I10 but willing to give it a try if it helps you out.

I bought a HP 8GB Memory Stick for ÂŁ5 from Play for my 2012 Hyundai i10 1.2 Classic, loaded all my music and off i went. After about 20 minutes or so the music stopped and started scrolling through the tracks without playing any music, nothing i could do would stop this so i pulled out the Memory Stick, plugged it in again and it stated the USB was empty, took it out again and it played and then started scrolling, so out it came. I got home and formatted the Memeory stick again in FAT 32 loaded the music again and guess what, it did it all again. Got out my 4 year old trusty Transcend 2GB memory stick, loaded music and it played everything without a fault, so i have just ordered a new Transcend Memory stick and the HP one will probably end up in the bin.
Buy a quality Memory stick, it makes life easier.

This looks like exactly what is happening with me. I too have an HP 32GB flash USB stick. Player displays the name/title of each song and once even played a song. Then it simply exited in the middle of the song and keeps scrolling through the song titles. It seems that it is not able to read the file data, though it is reading the directory headers perfectly well. Can we not get a refund from HP for this, if this seems to be happening only with HP memory sticks. I have a more bitter experience with HP's quality, with my DV9000 laptop, where the graphics card gave me a **** lot of troubles. HP even got most of those laptops replaced after a class action lawsuit.

Can anyone explain how to connect an iPhone/iPod on the hyundai i10. Will the USB port charge the iPhone? Will the radio play music from the ipod/iphone if I connect it via the USB. I can play if I connect via the aux 3.5 mm plug. What is the point of the USB port?
Can't help with a direct answer but on an Android phone the USB socket both charges the phone and allows the radio to play audio files in the phone's memory, the aux socket plays audio that the phone is playing live.

Quite flexible really and a visit to the pound shop should if in stock sort you out with the required cables.

A copy of my post on the IX20 forum which may be of some use (price varies daily).
For anyone who wants to put some music in their car this tiny memory stick is only ÂŁ8.80 and 16 GB so will hold up to roughly 160 albums depending on quality/bitrate. Can hardly see it once fitted so wont get knocked and broken. Also works perfectly with Hyundais system.

Same Problem IX35

I am currently having the same issues with my IX35.
I have 2 USB drives so am using different methods of getting these to work, formatting differently and using different sector sizes.
I managed to get one to work with FAT32 and sector size 3200(whatever it is), however, I did this setting with my other USB and it did not recognise the media, I did think this USB was the better quality one.

If anyone has an exact device and settings that work, this would be great info to have
