I would first do a transmission reset to see if that fixes it. I have an I30 and was ready to get rid of it about 5 years ago and after the reset it's never looked back. I did it with a scantool but I believe you can do it by taking off the negative battery terminal and letting the system power down.

I suppose around 10 minutes but I think Gerard is right that it can only be done with a scantool.

My Vpecker just says "reset transmission to factory values" and just click.

We just got 2 new Gscan's at work. I think they were very expensive but I found them quiet slow.
