How Or Where To Access The Azera Fog Light?

I post this topic a while ago but still no luck. I went to the dealer couple of times and asked if they have any sense of idea in regard to accessing the fog logs, but they mentioned charging an initial fee of 30 to replace the bulb for me. I really dislike the way they approach me and trying to rip me off. I went through the manual countless times and all it mentioned is go to the dealer. This has been a big loop for me. Does anyone have any idea about fog light swapping? Thank you!

In addition, what kind of bulb does the fog light application use?

I don't recall seeing any post anywhere where someone has, as yet, had to replace a fog light, but it seems that to access these lights, the bumper has to be removed. The lamp socket in the owner's manual is listed as PGJ19-1, 35W but that listed socket cross-references to an H8, which seems too high in wattage...

You gotta remove the front headlight to change out the turn signals unless you've got tiny hands or a contortionist living with you too. Fortunately the headlight bulbs themselves can be done without removing anything. Not the best.

It would seem to me that bulbs that burn out frequently, like fogs and turn signals should be easy to change for the end user.

I totally agree with you! I do have a project in mind in regards to this issue. I might put in an extra set of new fogs below the plate. What do you think?

^^^ I had some 150 watt off road driving lights on my old truck when I lived and frequently traveled in northern Wisconsin. Lots of narrow twisty roads with lots of deer. Blew away anything the azera headlights could do.

Then again, last time I was in WI, I had a rental car and this happened:

You can still see some of the fur... :whistling:

Gotta love that big **** crown vic rental car. Hit the thing and the car was like...."what was that noise? Oh, just a deer, keep going" The car didn't even flinch.

i have had to change my passenger side fog light twice. you don't have to remove the bumper even though it would make it so much easier. its best to do with a car lift. raise the car up. remove the under body plastic plates. from there you should be able to reach up and twist the fog light out. replace the bulb and reverse the steps. might take a while if its your first time.

I have seen this before, but unless the MY06 is radically different from MY08, you do NOT have to remove the bumper - BUT it is a major PITA! I turn the front wheels hard to the opposite side of the bulb I needed to change (and reversed for the other side) and with some difficulty, you can remove the fog lamp bulb. On my vehicle it IS an H8 bulb.

If I were you, I would "solve" the problem like I did after struggling with them twice: sub a pair of LED replacement bulbs (like these Yitamotor OSRAM based H8 LED lamps: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HO8TLVE/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and you won't have to worry about it ever again.

I ended up installing a pair of 6" switchback (white LED strip that has yellow blinkers) on top of mine. That requires some adept hands, dremel tool and patience, but the result is great! Wire the main two leads to the fog leads and the third (switch back for yellow blinkers) by poking a hole through to the OEM turn signals. Be sure to seal it properly with the right (waterproof permanent) sealant!

May be able to reach fog lights from top by battery (2015 Azera). Only good for 1 light. Passenger side requires going in under car between fr rt tire and bumper. Have to remove plastic flap. Has two plastic screws. Current DIY video viewed was worthless. Will b replacing OE lights with LEDs tomorrow. Will video and post under “Geriatric DIYer.”
