Hi all, just curious how far everyone has driven in their Santa Fes! Curious about hybrid drivers, specifically.

2021 Hybrid here with 19k miles. No real issues and love the comfortable ride and infotainment. Lots of cargo space for my needs (carrying a dog around and small road trips).

Hoping to drive mine for years and years to come!

How about everyone else?

2022 Hybrid Limited. My average lifetime mpg is 32, so on track with EPA claims.

I had an issue with the alignment on my car from factory where it was severely pulling the the right. Dealer couldn't align it correctly so had to spend $100 to get it professionally done. Never had alignment problem on a new car.

Just had my 8k oil change with full synthetic 0W-20, and dealership did great work and provided great service.

Couple of observations:
1. Steering is heavy, wish I had more assistance. I came from a Volvo XC60 and that could be steered with a finger. For any trips longer than 30 mins, I start to notice the strain.
2. Passenger seat doesn't have lumbar adjustments and extendable thigh support.
3. Cabin noise could use some more NVH reduction, more so at higher highway speeds.
4. Seat and dash ergonomics could be improved. I'm 5'6" and I cannot really get into a position where my legs are almost fully extended and my elbows are near 90 degrees. Feels like they either need to move the pedals further forward or allow the steering wheel to come close to the driver.
5. The Lane Following Assist (LFA) is finicky and I have found at higher speeds and sharper corners, the system cannot respond as fast and turn.

Overall, decently happy with the car. It's big, has some luxury features, and returns good MPG. My partner and I intended this to be our "basic" car and it meets that benchmark. At $46k OTD, it was really stretching the budget for a basic car, but after testing driving a lot of vehicles, we quickly realized we liked the more upscale semi-luxurious SF.

2023 Santa Fe Calligraphy with almost 5,000 miles and have only one problem/complaint. At any speed I have a slight vibration. This is really bad but since this is our road car it can be very irritating after a hundred miles or so. I have had it back to the dealer twice but just finished a 1300 miles trip and it's still there. I'm thinking I may visit the Continental Tire dealer and get his input before I return to the dealer.

I believe my mileage improved slightly at about 4,000 miles. I got 26.1 mpg for the trip and that's with about 200 miles of 80 mph speed limit. I noticed it runs about 22.2 at this speed. Did the same trip about a couple of months ago and averaged slightly over 25 mpg.

2023 Hybrid Limited
Physical aspects are fine. Overall quality on par with the BMW X5 it replaced.

Software? A rolling PoS. My wife is pushing me to replace it 9 months after purchase, and I'm fine with that because I agree with her. Infotainment is a -9, plain old seat settings are extremely dangerous as they change without warning while we're backing up or pulling out in traffic. I've reported the seat problem to the NHSTA as a dangerous flaw.

So we're not recommending anything Hyundai/KIA until they replace their entire software team at the top two levels. And our Sants Fe will soon be going bye bye.

55,000km (34,000mi), no mechanical issue. Ok ownership thus far.

Minor issues:
Right front window trim (the triangle part) defect, warranty replaced
Denied to fix the wheel clear coat peeling and ISG TSB
Gas dilution, but huge improvement using Kirkand instead of Pennzoil Ultra, weird
Occasional pop noise somewhere when SF comes to a complete stop
All underbody weld joints are rusted
Trim fitment workmanship

Maintenance work DIY:
Oil change every 6mths, topped up coolant 2x, engine filter 1x, cabin filter 1x, tire rotation 1x, front wipers changed 1x

Bought new, 23 Santa fe limited 2.5T. 7500 miles, 3 months old. Emergency braking automatically while on the interstate doing 70 mph. Dash lit up red. I was almost rear-ended. Lasted about 5 seconds. Scared the crap out of me. Red triangles on the outside mirrors only work sometimes when cars are in your blind spot. Directional lever both right or left, turns off some of the speakers. Radio changes channels. Navigation system sucks. Only gives one way of going somewhere. Dealer has had the vehicle since October 11th and can't find anything wrong with it. Like I said I got the $48,000. Lemon

22 Caligraphy - 24,000 miles. Bought new. Been Ok.
  • Wiper washer stopped spraying- fixed under warranty.
  • Couple of check-engine lights - misfire. Dealer had to elliminate coil and plug and sent us home. Bad injector - fixed under warranty, but took 5 months to get injector.
  • Transmission updates and more than one recall in less than two years.
The car is nice. My wife likes it. It hasn't been as trouble free as other nissan and toyota cars I've bought new.

Ha, I didn't realize I'd posted in here about 2 years ago. How time flies.

We now have about 49k miles. The horn stopped working a while back and was painfully fixed under warranty. It's documented on this forum somewhere.

Other than that, been good.

Own a 2019 AWD Limited 2.4 47500 miles bought new 5 years ago. NO MAJOR PROBLEMS. 27+ MPG. Still seems like new, but no new car smell anymore  sheeze it's FIVE years old. Put Michelin Crosstreks on a year ago, did very well in winter last year so hope they last. Am now out of 5/60 warranty, low miles thanks to COVID 2020 limits, I change oil every 3700 miles. We've done 2 major winter snowbird drives from MN to TX & FL the last two winters. I plan to drive it past 90,000 miles looking for a PHEV in late 2027. I am no fan of the latest Santa Fe styling and also a Toyota fan so we'll see where things are at by late 27 and 2028. 73

Relatively new owner in this 2023 calligraphy. A whopping 1,680 miles. Still has that orgasmic leather off-gassing smell. I suppose I’ll miss this the most. Appearance, performance, comfort and handling are a dream. Hopefully, I didn’t just jinx myself.

Confession: it took my granddaughter riding in the back to pull that lever and recline her seat. She told me what she did and the result. I was astonished. As soon as we had stopped, I jumped out from under the wheel to check it out myself. Pretty slick.

Finally, convinced myself it might be a great idea to
actually “read the Effing owner’s manual. Which I found in one of the recessed compartments in the back. Seemed strange for it to be there and not in the glove box.

All in all, I’m pretty pleased. It beats my old 2023 Sonata, if for no other reason that I got tired of “falling in” and “crawling out.” It’s rather comforting to have the driver’s seat about butt high in this SUV. I still have my OEM knees and hips. I’d like to keep them as long as possible. Even at 74, I’m not looking forward to having one (or more) replaced. :)

Rules of vehicle ownership:
#1. Never, EVER, “think, say, post, or mention underneath earshot,” what a great vehicle you have. Ever heard of Murphy’s Law? I swear these things have ears. And attitudes. Remember this: “Mum’s the word!” Know it. Live it.

and I feel like an idiot, "I" turned off the power lift gate. Nothing wrong with it.
Whats the odds? Wife comes home last night. Wants to know where our Hyundai dealer went. “One block east in that new Taj Majal Hyundai building. Why?” She proceeds to tel me her lift gate on back doesn’t work. I tried dash and rear buttons. She’s right…no go. I grabbed her fob and switched on the car to play with her driver presets. Sure enough, the box wasn’t checked. I did my thing, told her to try it again. Presto! Perfect!

Don’t ask me how she managed it. I’ve been married to this woman 51 years. I know better than to start the inquisition. Suffice it to say, she’s happy. Which thrills me to death. 😂

Well I made it to 46k miles and have had a few issues. Ignition coil went bad as did the rear facing camera. Both fixed under warranty. Then the camera came up under a recall item. I also had my horn go out, repl under warranty. Have repl all the fluids and I'm still getting just
Short o short of 30 mag. It's to bad the motor is such a dude. I'd like it more. The new bodystyle is horrific!

2020 Santa Fe SEL front wheel drive 2.4l engine.
27,000 miles - 5 years old - bought new December 2019.
Has never had a single issue - never been in the shop - never had a recall - do all the maintenance myself.
The 2.4 will average around 27 to 30 mpg.

So far my maintenance cost are:
5 - 5-quart jugs of Super Tech oil = $90
5 Hyundai oil filters = $20
5 cabin air filters = $75
2 engine air filters = $40

It is still running on the original tires that came with the vehicle.

We bought the car outright in 2019 paying full price = $25,000 +a trade in of a 2004 Sienna with 160,000 miles on it.

So total cost of ownership over just about 6 years of ownership has been = $225.

It has been a wonderful car for us - not a single problem!
