All my admiration goes out to anyone who actually bothers reading the postings here.

I'm the new owner of an old 2004 Elantra GT hatchback (98000 km).
I love driving it, but I think it was a huge mistake to have bought it.
So many little things seem to go wrong with it, just one after the other after another after yet one more... GRrrrr !!!!!!!

Can anybody tell me where the ignition key goes in ? I can't seem to find a place for it... :whistling: And I don't even have an owner's manual to point me in the right direction.

Anyhow, see ya all around.

Your problem may be a first! on this forum. Seriously. There is not even a picture of the ignition switch location in the whole shop manual. Are you pranking us?

BUT there is no such thing as a silly question here. See:

http://www.hyundaiusa.com/vehicle/elantra/...ewinterior.aspx

Look at the interior view at the steering wheel, right side, just below the right side spindle. That is where the key goes. Turn to the right and hold. Release when the engine starts or 5 seconds have passed.

Owner's manuals are USD $7.45 plus shipping. See
