Fog Light Fuses

I installed HID's headlights in my low beams and my fog lights.

I used a relay to power them for the low beams and did the fog lights plug and play.

For the past few weeks, if i go to turn on the fog lights after turning the headlights on, the fog light flickers blue for a millisecond and turns off.

Now they don't turn on at all.

I've been looking through the service manual on the hyundai tech info site and i cannot for the life of me find where the fuse is for the fog lights.

Any ideas people?

Thanks in advance,

Nick

This won't answer your question about the fuse location, but it relates to your installation. There are also similar threads every now and then going back a couple years. The relay harness is a good idea on the fogs too. I'm pretty sure the fuse location mystery was solved in one of them, I just don't remember what it was...

Fog Light Failure

I will try to help you with your fog lights. There is no fuse for the fog lights labeled as such. The fogs get power from the 60 amp B+4 fuse in the E/R fuse and relay panel. I believe you will find this fuse in the engine room fuse panel in a row of combination fuses. This same fuse feeds the power seat, IPS control modules and etc. If your power seat works the fuse should be good and if blown many other items would not work correctly. Power to the fogs is controlled by IPS3 (Intelligent power contol) and I do not have a print of the IPS. I suspect its a circuit Hyundai does not want everyone to know about and may be a change out box by the dealer. I would suggest the quickest way to troubleshoot the problem is to determine if you have 12 volts to the fog light itself with the fog light switch light on. This is the wire that was going to your old bulb and now goes to the ballest. You have put HID fogs in your Sonata so you would need to check for 12volts at the ballest you installed. If you do not have a harness installed either fog would be OK to check. If you have power please check the ground as I've found a good ground is the most important thing running HID's. If you have made a ground down aroung the fogs I suggest running the ground wire up to the factory ground on each side of the engine compartment. If no power I suggest going to the dealer for the fix. You could put it back stock with the element bulbs before going to the dealer. I suggest this because the IPS circuits may be located in the BCM box.
Would you post the fix when found. I suggest installing a harness when working.

Good Luck!

Thank you, I am going to try to tackle this issue tonight. As for the ground you spoke of, since I do not have a relay yet, there would not be a separate ground. It would be using the plug and play ground.

I had kind of the same issue. I have XS hid fogs and the harness atopped working. They told me to take out the harness and just go plug in and play but it wouldnt work. I thought i was the fuse. I called back and they said that my car (not sure if its true) can't have hid fogs without the harness for some reason i can remember and they sent me another harness and it worked.

Hope that helps.
