I can confirm that I have the engineering mode menu on my 2022 Elantra. It is the 8" display.
Steps:
1)Setup / General /SW Info
2)In the black space beside the update button..
3)On the left side, tap 5 times (near top left corner of black area)
4)On the right side, tap once (near top right corner of black area)
5)When prompted for pin, enter 2400

Done! It was a bit tricky, but after several tries, I got it.

Someone got YouTube to work on the Elantra sport with the 8" display.

Remember these things runs a very old version of Android as the one from the ES ran on Android kitkat but I'm not sure about the new ones. And I'm sure that's how dealerships update these non navigation ones anyways.

I should have took pics and posted them here. The engineering mode on the CN7 is much more refined and the scroll bar reminds me of windows 98. Now one thing I'm curious about is the USB to update.... It has to be that one USB port that's used for charging and wired Android auto and carplay to update I'm assuming? We need a tech nerd to confirm if true. It would definitely be cool if someone made a custom ROM for these vehicles. I would love a very simple material design right about now.

Thank you @agmonm for posting the updated codes!

Just wanted to share my results with the forum....

I updated my '22 Elantra SEL to the latest firmware today, but still really wanted to figure out if I could change the CPU Variant to get Wired CarPlay instead of Wireless (sound quality is huge for me and I hated getting annoying drop outs from random interference) - it worked great by switching to CPU Variant 01! Note that Variant 01 does disable the wireless CarPlay and Android Auto functionality, but that does not bother me at all.

Just glad to have a functional audio system that doesn't drop to bluetooth audio frequently enough to be a bother anymore. I don't even plan on pairing with bluetooth again - just not worth it since I have the wired CarPlay now!

Hello,

I'm interested in getting wired carplay also in my kona but i have a few questions.

What does it reset when you change the variant - Just the display settings or other info as well (mileage, fuel consumption statistics, service date, etc)

Also any of them can be selected and revert back to any other or there might be one that will brick it?

Thanks
