Dealerships don't make that decision. All they need to do is submit the info to Hyundai and let them decide and prior approval is almost 100%. I just don't understand why so many have issues with all the extended warranties and class action lawsuits.

I had the same exact nightmare with my 2016 2.0 cost me over $6,000 for engine replacement Hyundai told me that it was VIN number specific on the recalls where you told that or how did you go about getting them to cover the cost because I had to pay for every bit of it out of pocket they flat refused and several recalls revolve around the issue that I had with out of the blue having drove 18 miles to run some errands stopped at a convenience store to get drinks get out of my car leave it running because of other passengers and my car is knocking as if it's out of oil I checked the oil it's full there's no dash lights on indicating issues no mechanical malfunction no performance malfunction no check oil lights absolutely nothing just the loud obnoxious knock as if it was completely out of oil which it wasn't took it to one shop they were clueless I ended up having it towed AutoNation Hyundai they told me that my car threw a rod and I would need a brand new engine or a remanufactured do you have any input on what I should do because in 2020 I spent several days and hours trying to get Hyundai to pay for it after looking at recalls for the exact issue and in every way they could they flat refused and said the recalls were VIN number specific in my VIN number was not part of the recall but yet my vehicle is for the current ENGINE MONITORING LOGIC AND AS I SAID WITH ABSOLUTELY NO WARNING NO TYPE OF ANYTHING SEPTEMBER 2020 MACARTHUR ROAD AND I HAD TO HAVE AN ENGINE LEFT ME WITHOUT A CAR FOR 4 MONTHS, I LIVE IN A RURAL AREA AND DON'T HAVE FAMILY HERE AND EVEN NOW MY CAR SEEMS VERY SLUGGISH TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP POSITION HOW DID YOU GO ABOUT GETTING HYUNDAI TO REPLACE YOUR ENGINE AND DID THEY TELL YOU THAT IT WAS VIN NUMBER SPECIFIC
