First time Hyundai buyer after a long time Nissan enthusiast. Went to Bowser Hyundai, Chippewa Pa. and so far am very pleased. The sales rep I have been dealing with Ed Casciato, has gone to the wall for me several times. Was a very pleasant no hassle buying experience.

On day of taking delivery, it was noted that the carpeted floor mats were missing. They were ordered, but after a week of them not coming in, Ed and the sales manager took a set from another car on the lot and put in mine to keep me happy. I will post of service department experiences as they happen.

Allen Turner Hyundai, Pensacola, FL

I just wanted to give a quick thumbs up for Allen Turner Hyundai in Pensacola, FL. The salesman that I worked with the most was Scott Deaver. If you're in the Pensacola area and in the market for a Hyundai, please give him a call!

I have been working on getting a Sonata for almost a year now. Last spring (2011) I was looking into trading my F150 for a Sonata, but I had too much negative equity, so we couldn't make a deal. Fast forward to this spring, my truck finally sold (privately) which put me back in the market for a new car.

Scott took lots of time with my wife and me last spring when we were looking, so I went straight back to him this February when we started looking again. Through 3 or 4 dealership visits he patiently showed me different cars and talked to me about features and prices.

The day we went in to make the purchase Scott Deaver ended up being out because of a family emergency, so another salesman, Scott Shelly, ended up helping us with our sale. However, I was very adament that I wanted Scott Deaver to get credit and commission for our purchase. I offered to come back when he was back, but Scott Shelly assured us that he was giving all of the credit to Scott Deaver (even showed me the screen he was working off of with Scott Deaver's name on it instead of his own). I appreciated that they take care of each other!

Because we came in after work, the sale process took us past closing time, but Scott Shelly, as well as the sales manager and finance manager, stayed late to finish our sale without any complaint or making us feel awkward about keeping them.

At the end of our process we were given a tour of the service dept (even though it was closed) to show us where it is and how it works. WOW!! What a service area! Not that I want my car to have problems, but that place is phenominal! Plush waiting area with free snacks and drinks, tv, etc. Certainly seems like it would ease the discomfort of waiting for your vehicle. Since I have no experience there, I'll reserve final judgement on the service dept until I go in for service. But if the sales experience and reputation that I hear from friends is anything to go on, the service experience should be a good one.

Ok, so enough rambling. I don't normally gush on and on about places like car dealerships, but this one was great! No pressure, nice place, and nice people! I highly recommend them!

P.S. Even though Scott Deaver was unable to be present for our final purchase, he did give me a call a few days later to thank me for our purchase and to let me know to get in touch with him if we ever need anything. I appreciate his dedication to us even after the sale!

I've bought from Fitzgerald Auto Mall (Gaithersburg, MD) twice now - first, a new 2006 Sonata GLS V6, about six years ago, and more recently the 2012 YF. Best prices that I was able to find in the Baltimore/Washington/N.Virginia area. They also supplement the warranty with their own lifetime service package - which includes a $35 coupon for anything from their service department, every 90 days (oil changes paid for). Haven't had any problems with them in the past, so I would definitely recommend them.

CityWorld Hyundai, Bx. NY

This is my second car from them. 2012 GLS with Popular Equip, floor mats, cargo net, Auto dimming mirror, and mud guards. MSRP $22,815, I paid $20,495 -$500 loyalty = $19,995. No pressure, they had a dozen Sonatas. Mark was my sales rep and was excellent as was Michael. I bought it on Wednesday and drove it home on Friday. If you need a car, tell them Jerry sent you.

Positive experiences at two dealerships here in the San Francisco Bay area: Bought my 2012 Sonata 2.0 SE AND 2012 Elantra GLS w/Preferred Pack. the same day from Antioch Hyundai where they worked with me until late to get the price I wanted.

Future Hyundai of Concord is bar-none, one of the best service departments out. The two service reps do just about everything to make me, the customer happy. Everytime I go, they wash the outside of my vehicles (spot free shine I may add).

Don't Buy Here

I love my new Sonata, but the dealer experience reminded me of old-time car shopping (Hyundai of Greer in South Carolina)! I name what I want to pay, after over 2 hours of haggling we shake and when I go back to the business office there's another number. So, back to work we go. After I work this deal, I notice on the internet they had a price a little lower then what I wasted all that time negotiating (they hadn't take the ad off their site yet). I go back in to drop the car back off and leave it as they're not willing to rework the deal, so after being there (and promising to sit there until closing) they finally agree to refund their processing charges. 3 weeks later I go in to ask about the check and they look at me like I'm crazy. The General Manager finally admits to remembering and promises to get that for me within the week.
What a group! Not sure I want to find out how their service department is.

Kind of sounds like my car buying experience. I absolutely HATE car salesman. My salesman was a nice guy, and pretty honest, but after I got all of the paperwork from their "finance" guy, I couldn't make heads or tails of all the numbers they were throwing around. In plain English, I told them what I would pay for the 2012 Sonata SE 2.0, and what I wanted for my trade (2004 Sonata GLS)

I was probably there a good three hours with them having to "check with the manager" bull $hit, but I guess they wore me down and I said I'd split the difference (cost me an extra $300) Wright Hyundai in Wexford PA

I received my 2011 Hyundai Sonata from Larry Stoveshand in Paducah ky. I have had 0% satisfaction with this dealer after the sale. When i was in the process of purchasing the car i notised that the car was in the possession of the dealer for 2 months. Being that this is one of the most popular cars this year i was like whats the deal. Why havent they sold it yet. Well i was informe that it was in there shop for quite some time to replace the passenger side mirror. No other details were given to me.

I did notice that some of the rims were a little scuffed up but I figured i would replace them later. I tried to get the dealer to work a deal to replace the wheels. they refused. I still ended purchasing the car. Drove 2.5 hrs to the dealer.

2 months after perchase. A friend driving behind me notice a "wobble" in the front right wheel. There was not evidence in the stearing. I had the wheel looked at and come to find out that the wheel was bent pretty badly.

I called the dealer and asked if they did any kind of inspection on the vehicle that surely they would have noticed the defect. I wanted to know if there was anything they could do for me.

They said its passed 30 days your on you own....

So any advice to anybody in the Paducah, ky area... Stay away from this dealer!

I live in Cordova, TN (suburb of Memphis) and recently purchased a new 2012 Sonata SE with navigation. I wasn't able to get my first color choice of Pacific Blue, but got my 2nd choice in the Indigo. For the deal I got on it, I can deal with getting my 2nd fave. The folks at Gossett Hyundai on Covington Pike were awesome. If you are anywhere near Memphis, these are the folks to see. I made an offer on it via email and was contacted right away. Brain and Jennifer were my sales people and were awesome. I got the Sonata for about $2700 under the sticker price and got $20K for my trade, which was about $2K more than the trade-in value and $1K less than the private party value on it. I was very pleased with the service I got and everyone there was very polite and knowledgeable. This is my second purchase from them (actually traded in the Silverado I bought from them used in 2008) and I will likely go back once it is time to get an additional vehicle. I don't foresee getting rid of my Sonata anytime within the next 5-10 years though (maybe longer). I absolutely love it

We just bought our '12 Sonata Limited 2.0 from Superior Hyundai South in Cincinnati. We were greeted by Trevor Balsbaugh, the internet manager. I applauded him for the work he put into the website, with photos of each car in their inventory, unlike the two other dealers in the area. To keep this from getting lengthy, I'll sum it up by saying our experience was very good. Trevor kept the process moving smoothly, even with the dealer swap he was able to arrange in order to get the car my wife really wanted. Thanks in part to the year-end clearance, we were able to get much more car than we initally thought we could afford, and we got what we wanted for our trade-in. I would highly recommend Trevor and the sales staff at Superior Hyundai.

I bought a '12 Sonata GLS today from Franklin Sussex Hyundai in Sussex, NJ. I contacted them on a Tuesday, stopped in on Wednesday for a test drive and go over numbers. On Thursday they found the car I wanted and they had it the next day. I drove it home on Sat.

My sales rep was Erin, she is awesome to deal with. I bought the car at invoice, less $500 factory incentive. They were up front about showing me the invoice, not pushy at all. They mentioned warranties, gap insurance, other things, which I declined, and they didn't blink an eye. (I've been at places where you're made to feel like a moron for refusing this stuff).

The facilities are very nice, they're almost done a total remodel (it used to be a Chevy dealer).

When I went in to pickup the car, all the numbers were just as we'd discussed, no surprises. They gave me a voucher for a free oil change before I left.

I would definitely buy from them again, and I'd recommend them to my best friends.

I got mine in Dublin, California, at Dublin Hyundai. Delt with Steve Palindino, great experience, felt I got a great deal on the car and a good value on my trade in. This was the second Hyundai we have bought from Dublin, I do not remember the first salesmans name for my wifes Santa Fe last year but it also was a great experience. I highly recommend Dublin Hyundai.

Dealer: Stan Olsen Hyundai (Omaha, NE)
Salesperson: Zach and Mike (Internet Dept.)

Bought a 2012 Sonata GLS with PEP and Remote Start

MSRP:$22,820
Invoice: $21,961
Selling Price: $21,461 less $500 rebate from Hyundai Finance for a final price of $20,961. Also got 0.9% 48mo promotional financing.
Total OTD with TTL and fees: $21,117

Overall, my wife and I had a good experience. We found the model we wanted on their website and requested a quote. We received a response within an hour. The internet price offered was in line with my research. Of the other two dealers in Omaha, Archer did not give me a quote and wanted me to come to the dealer, and Edwards gave me a slightly lower quote ($200) but due to some bad stories I had herd about them we decided to try Olsen first.

We set an appointment and we were greeted at the door by Zach of internet sales. He had the car out front cleaned and ready for a test drive. I gave him the keys to my trade (2010 Fusion) and we went on about a 30 min test drive. Zach was never pushy through the whole process. The only hangup in the deal was my trade. I was dissapointed that they played the game of lowballing me on the first offer. I had an offer in writing from Carmax for $1500 more then they offered and it took three rounds of "let me go talk to the manager" to get them to match the Carmax offer. They were never rude or pushy, but we did almost walk at this point. But we got it worked out, and from that point on no more games were played. The numbers were consistent throughout the deal and they never tried to change anything. The visit to F&I was quick and painless, one no was enough on the product presentation, papers were signed, and we were out the door.

If we would not have had the trade, it would have been a perfect experience, but because of the games played with the trade I give them a solid good.

I went to multiple dealerships in New Jersey and here are my thoughts about each of them.

Sansone - I had an indifferent experience. My sales person was Thomas Peoples and he was a pretty nice guy but they weren't able to get me the pricing I wanted and would not try to beat other competitors. So I left. They didn't try to pursue me nor call me back so I guess they weren't going to try to force me to come into the dealership.

Global Hyundai - They seem like a decent place. They actually had someone from corporate come for training session on that day so I guess Hyundai probably values their dealership. They quoted me the highest price on the car but it was also the first place I went so I did not know anything about what is the best price. They keep sending me emails but did not call me again to come into the dealership.

Freehold - Nice people to work with but once again would not do the price that I wanted and would not match or beat the price I quoted from other dealerships.

Muller Hyundai - Did not actually visit them in person but got a very good quote from them online. Tim Hammond was my online sales representative and he was very understanding. Due to the distance, was not able to visit them in person, but I wished I had. They might have been able to work something out.

Brad Benson - Liars and cheats. This would be the last place I would recommend anyone to go. Visited the dealership three times and would make me wait 90 - 120 mins just to see the car. Would just throw random numbers to see if I would sign the papers. Sales managers were also very condescending towards me and sometimes even to their own sales reps (although i think this was probably be a farce). Keep making promises over the phone to force me to come into the dealership but would not honor the deals when I reached the place. Once again - stay away!!!

Burns Hyundai - Very nice people but once again pricing did not work out. I went there because my friend had bought a car from them. At first I was confident that they might actually give me the best price but in the end did not work out. Still very nice folks and we all left with smiles on our faces instead of curses.

Lester Glenn - Were nice once again but felt that they were trying to get me to visit their dealership again by calling me and throwing numbers at me also.

Finally the best experience I have had so far was from Flemington Hyundai where I eventually purchased my car. No pressure into buying the car and they negotiated to the best deal I got and I think could have pressured them into shaving another couple of hundred off but would have taken more time and probably another visit. After about close to two months of car hunting I was frankly tired. Unlike other dealerships they did not force me any extra addons or carpets or anything. Cannot believe there is actually a car dealership out there that really respects their customers as well as they do.

I got 19,700 OTD on a 2012 Sonata GLS with 3 rebates with 0% financing. So I think I got a helluva deal.

I can second this. Bought my 2012 SE 2.0T there over Presidents Day weekend. Sticker was $26.5K, got it for $24.2K. Salesman (Redmond) was great, literally ran around the lot to get me keys for a test drive. The showroom is big and clean, and the weekend I was there, they had about 90 Sonatas on the lot to choose from. No hassles, no haggling necessary, and though they offered all the "dealer extras", they didn't push them like so many dealers do. I've had it in for the first two scheduled services, and both went without a hitch. Their service prices are not only competitive, they're actually cheaper than many local garages.

I was all set to buy a Kia Optima before I went to Flemington Hyundai. I like the look of the optima better, and it is a bit cheaper. But they didn't have the exact options I wanted in stock, so I figured I'd at least check out a Sonata. After seeing how they run things at Flemington Hyundai, I was sold.

I had a really bad sales experience at Temecula Hyundai. They ran a bait and switch game through CarWoo. Temecula Hyundai offered a specific vehicle by email and the car was not there when I arrived at the dealer. The dealer only had cars with add-ons. I negotiated the price of the add-ons but later found they were not all installed on the car. I found similar complaints about their Internet/Fleet Sales Dept and I would suggest that everyone avoid Temecula Hyundai.

OH my gosh, I had the same horrible experience. The finance manager sat there and LIED to my face about the true invoice price of the car (my boyfriend's mother is a car transporter... she knows the true cost of cars to dealerships). My dad was helping me purchase the vehicle and we'd received quotes from a couple other places, including a fleet guy up in Huntington who had quoted us $10,000 down with $245/mo. at 1.9% for 48 months. This was solid, and we told the Temecula Hyundai guys we wanted to see if they could match it because we wanted to keep the money in Temecula where my folks live. The finance manager said that we were making it all up and kept goading my dad to show him the email the fleet guy sent us. Long story less long, we walked out of there after my dad and I both were sick of getting the run around. NO GOOD.

So I mentioned by boyfriend's mom. She gave me the number of a sales manager in Orange County at Garden Grove Hyundai. They're a volume dealership--Temecula is not--so GG is a bit more negotiate-able.. able to be negotiated (make sense?). We ended up making a fantastic deal so quick and easily that I never want to go anywhere else. I highly recommend Garden Grove Hyundai.

Silver lining: it was so fun having the sales rep we dealt with from Temecula Hyundai call us as we were on the way to Garden Grove and tell him that we got a car for sooo much less than they were willing to sell it to us for. :D

OH. And this too. Temecula will try to upcharge their cars by saying, "ooh, our tires are filled with nitrogen" (extra $100) and "oh look at this, we put a chemical on your car that will keep you from having to wax it for five years!" (extra $250). It's all BS. Go elsewhere.

I have had a very disappointing experience with my dealer, "Stew Hansen Hyundai", so far. I bought a certified used 2011 Sonata, was told that they would take care of all the paint, dings, smoke smell, and certification maintenance. Have taken the car back several times to resolve these issues the last thing I took it back for was an odor. I changed the cabin air filter myself and when I opened the door to access the cabin air filter I was shacked to find a mouse nest in it. So certification doesn't mean much to Stew Hansen Hyundai.

I have to put a pitch in for my dealer, Luther Bloomington Hyundai in Bloomington, Minnesota.

I took a Sonata for a test drive, but the color, trim and options I was looking for wasn't in stock. They received an unexpected shipment the very next day, including the exact car I wanted. They called me back that morning with a great price. I closed the deal that evening. No pressure, great price and great service.

Would like to insert my great experience with McCafferty Hyundai Suzuki of Langhorne in Langhorne, PA. and my salesman Zach Radoff.

I am no newbie when it comes to new cars, salesmen and dealers. I worked as an assistant manager of a new car department for nearly 14 years so I was not going to be taken, I surely wasn't. After pondering and trying to choose between a new Camry SE and the Hyundai SE, I found our stock of Sonata’s low in our area but many Camry's available. I really did want a Sonata.

Searching the internet I could only find stock or what we'd call corporate images of cars in stock, I wanted to see the real thing before I was going to drive for a purchase. I did find two that matched what I wanted at Faulkner Hyundai in Harrisburg, a 100 mile drive; they had them listed on the net with a "Buy It For This Price" which was a great price. I called and they assured me that's what I'd pay if I financed and was able to get all the rebates. I tried a closer dealer as I could drive to it in just a few minutes, another Faulkner Hyundai but stock was sparse IMO and after speaking to a salesman he said I could probably get one within a day. A weekend went by and no call yet I did receive a call back from Harrisburg and they would not bring the car down to my area for a dealer trade.

I had almost given up on finding MY Sonata until my son who works at one of the largest dealers in PA. told me to stop in at McCafferty Hyundai and see what they offered. There they were, a full line of all the Sonata's you could want except the exact color and model I wanted, a radiant silver SE with no nav or sunroof and just the basics. I was there to buy a car for sure. My salesman Zach Radoff looked over his stock on a mad hot day mentioning there may have been some still in prep. There was my car in the final inspection bay although not complete with mats, trunk net, and mud guards. The car had already been prepped and was getting its stickers put on. It had been pinstriped, security glass etched and they added plastic chrome wheel moldings which added much to the cost.

Now Zach had already known I was not into the added dealer stuff since I would be removing it once I left, pinstripes and wheel moldings. He understood but we both knew I had found the car; he was also training another salesman who in the end helped me pair my phone right.

Getting back to the deal, we sat down and looked at the numbers which I found were way too high. I immediately took to the internet and showed him the deal at Faulkner in Harrisburg. The internet can be your dealers worst enemy, he saw the price and concluded he couldn't match it but we could deal. I wasn't up for a 100 mile drive to be disappointed so I gave him the benefit of selling me this car. With all the added stuff I wanted, mats, cargo net and mudguards, the car also had the optional mirror which I didn't care for we came to a closing number we both could live with, I took advantage of the financing which took a full 1,000 off the car at .09%. I was ready to put 15,000 on the car just for the record, and will pay it off within four months so I don't lose the grand. We had driven the car, went over all the needed information and I was sold.

On to delivery, I had already felt Zack had not dominated me nor pressured me into anything, we strolled through the dealership, I met all the people I would deal with later and he had my car waiting in front of the showroom looking great. A full tank of gas, car was well cleaned and all the options were installed. We again went over all the neat things, and his trainee paired my phone. I was set to go after signing all paperwork I was only mentioned the fact that I could get the extended warranty at the end of the deal, they threw that in for me. I cannot say how pleased I was with this experience, no bull, no pressure, a clean, well managed dealership with very people friendly staff. Since my purchase they have followed up with me and kept me informed of new offers for service and more. I would highly recommend anyone in the area to see McCafferty Hyundai Suzuki of Langhorne in Langhorne, PA. and my salesman Zach Radoff for not only a Sonata but any Hyundai you may want, they have an exceptional stock of great diverse options on cars.

Route 23 Wayne, NJ Hyundai.

Salesman Angel F.

Good initial experience buying the used 2011 GLS.

Picked up last night and drove 20 miles to meet friends for dinner. On the way home the traction light came on so I pulled over and put it in park. Only to find out that I couldn't put it back in drive. Brake light switch was broke. Managed to get home and called the salesman this morning. Had it fixed an hour later with a free extra brake light switch in the glove box for the next time it happens. All in all a very good experience with an awkward situation for them. Will definitely send ppl their way.

After looking the car over when first buying it, I noticed the hubcap scratched, so I asked for a new one. The sales guy said there was nothing he could do, so I went to the General Mgr., and he said no problem. I had to get my own manual from another car directed by the General Mgr., and a net for the trunk.
Somehow my email address and phone number was wrong from the sales guy, but the General Mgr. said it was ok, and he just left it. What a dealership!
Originally, I was looking at an Elantra, so I drove it, but it drove hard and leaned to one side. The sales guy said it had a slight fender bender in the parking lot, but later I found out it had been in a major accident on the freeway....Wow!
