Crappy Quality of OEM All Weather Mats?

I bought my car 8 months ago, and I asked the salesperson to swap out the carpeted floor mats with the all weather ones, which he did. I didn't actually pay for them but the driver side mat is starting to get a hole near the gas pedal.

Has anyone else had this problem? I've got about 8k on them of daily driving.

I bought Weathertech's for my wife's new Cadillac and they fit perfectly when they were first installed but since it has gotten warmer, the passenger side front mat has deformed and no longer fits. I plan on returning it to the factory store where I bought them this Friday when we go to Chicago for the Blackhawk's parade.

Not sure your regular carpeted mats would have lasted. I have gone through three sets up front. Where the heel rests on the accelerator pedal is where I wear mine out. It breaks the thin plastic layer and then it breaks down where its just carpet.

Weather Liners or Husky is the way to go to get around the shotty mats. Fords are just as bad so its not limited to Hyundai either.

Since no one else seems to have a problem maybe you just got a bad mat. I would think since its been under 12 months you would be able to get the dealer to replace the defective mat for you.

remove the mat. don't carry anything in your pocket, keep the mat on a desk, super glue the button, why don't you add bow down and face the east after parking your vehicle??? What is the matter with you people??? HYUNDAI SCREWED UP!!!! end of story. Not only has my mat moved and ripped countless times on its own. The horn honks on its own, the inside light flicks on and off like some one was flicking the remote on and off (and no my remote was not in my pocket for many of these times, several of these times my keys were sitting on a dresser by themselves). I have had other cars with remotes NONE OF THEM have ever had this problem!!!! What you guys too proud of your cars to say it has a design flaw??? It does have a design flaw...QUIT BLAMING yourselves QUIT OFFERING WORK AROUNDS...Unite to keep your trunk closed??? WTF???? I guess you were trying to be funny BUT ITS NOT FUNNY!!!! RUINED EQUIPMENT, STOLEN ITEMS, TRUNK FULL OF RAIN AND SNOW??? I DONT SEE THAT AS BEING THE LEAST BIT FUNNY!!! IT IS A ROYAL PITA!!! TAKE THE DAMM THING BACK TO YOUR DEALER AND DEMAND THEY FIX IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

above is meant to be tongue in cheek

my own experience...carpet mats are in bag since day i brought it home. weathertech liners been in since. 60K miles...no issues with them. well worth the investment.

and, fwiw...my honda accord mats didn't hold up well. the odysseys did. reason...heel on the accord (like the sonata)...more of a flat foot resting in the odyssey.

I can imagine a woman who wears high heels putting a hole through a mat...but dress shoes and timbalands? You must have some heavy legs..

Just for the record, I hate the all-weather OEM mats. They get dirty fast, and aren't the easiest to clean (just my opinion). The ridges are too deep and the mats always felt a little too soft/spongy to me. I use the carpeted mats, and on the drivers side, I've recently starting putting a towel down over the mat (just makes it easier to keep clean).
