So I'm thinking of buying the '06 Sonata. Which colours do you guys/gals have or think looks the best? Up here we have 8 choices (2 less than Americans I believe):

Black
Pearl White
Aquamarine
Crimson
Crystal Silver (more like Baby Blue)
Steel Grey
Beige
Deepwater Blue

Anything, aside from black, is a $125 option.

I'm leaning towards Pearl White but other opinions is valued. I've had black before and it looks great when polished, but over the years the swirl marks and scratches really stand out.

all the colors are free over here in the states, i think. i'm thinking of buying myself. i like the pearl white because its so nice and pearly but then i got a second opinion - it is a really girly color. And the more I look at it the more that seems true. I think the steel gray is pretty slick if not boring. i actually dont like any of the colors, might just get a custom paint job on it with something real glossy like in the dolled up pics.

Deepwater Blue. Oh baby! I love this color. After 4 silver vehicles in a row and a fugly yellow one before that I was soo ready for another color. I wanted tan interior in with Cinnamon Red but they said Deepwater Blue with Grey was an option too. The blue has definitely won me over.

We have a white Bonneville also. It was hail damaged significantly a couple years back and with the white paint you can't even see the dents! So white is pretty cool too!

I/we had a tough time deciding what colour to get, I had my heart set on the deepwater blue until I saw it for real and realized how dark it is. The colour looks much brighter and nicer on the website - why do they do that ?? So I thought we were going to get the cinnamon which is beautiful particularly in the sunlight but it's quite dark again.

The local dealer here had several colours all lined up in a row and I've never been a fan of white but the white Sonata really stood out from the others, it looks much more expensive and luxurious than the others. We got the pearl white and the comments I get are quite frequent.

The only thing I don't like about the white ? I don't care for the woodgrain interior, I would rather have had the carbon fibre which of course isn't available on the Canadian pearl white for some reason. Oh well I guess if it bugs me enough I bet the plastic pieces pop off and I can get the fibre ones.

Have had the car for a couple weeks and don't regret the decision at all, in my opinion the white is excellent, (assuming you like the lighter colours anyway). I'm very impressed with white - I park in a dusty parking lot and the white never, ever looks dirty compared to the dark blue Elantra I had that would be dusty looking after parking for one day.

Deepwater freekin blue

I love the fact that it's black until you look at it more and realize it isn't black. And in the sunlight, EPIC.

sounds like i should take a closer look at deep water! going by the website (i know always a bad way to go when looking at colour) the deep water blue just didn't look that good.

when i goto the dealer this saturday i'll have a better appreciation. i've seen the Crimson and while it's not bad i dont know if i'll like in 2-3 years down the road.

I bought my beautiful sparkly Deepwater Blue car on a bright sunny day. Haven't seen it that color since. May as well have bought black. My favorite now is the Aqamarine followed by Crystal Silver, then Pearl. Dark colors seem to make the car look very small, but that may just be me.

Deepwater Blue here - This is one car that I don't mind cleaning. Three weeks
after bringing this baby home I still get comments every day

Cleaned and waxed, it gives me a reason just to go for a "ride" as I use to
40 years ago !!! Be it Blues, rock or techno... I get lost in the music and
the ride.

As for other colors, my son just picked up his first new car, a 2006 Tiburon,
( Orange Crush ) and he loves it. Not sure that would be my choice of color
but I must say that it turns heads better than mine ( IMHO )

I'm not sure if Crimson in the same as Cinnamon over here, but that's what I bought. I basically got it for the same reasons that the folks are saying for the deepwater blue, but I liked the red effect. Otherwise it's basically the same. If you look at it in low light, or with the sun behind it, it looks black. When the light reflects off of it, it's a gleams red. I've also gotten alot of comments on it.

I know this is going to fire some people up, but I wanted a unique color. The beige, black, silver, and white (except for pearl white), are what all of the other manufacturers have. Actually the color I would have loved would have been the same type of color as the deepwater blue and cinnamon, but in a deep green. I can understand why they didn't make a green, because the grey and tan interiors wouldn't look good with a green.

I would have loved dark green with tan! Those are the ultimate sport colors, reminds me of an Aston DB6 or something. I do have to say that the dark blue color is very elegant looking. I imagine the pearl white would be similar. I have a coworker who has a silver 06 Sonata and when he parks near me it's almost a different car. I think dark colors just contrast the rest of the car where as silver sort of blends in with the rims, the lights, the chrome trim accents. It's unapologetic.

Go with beige! even when it it is dirty it doesn't look bad. My sonata is beige. Deepwater blue is nice too. I would have got that except my wife's santa fe is that color and i didn't want to be a copycat. Black looks great when it is clean. But it gets dusty and get dirty very fast.

For me, it was down to black or silver. Clean and shiny, the black looks sweet. But Seoul and suburbs have a combined population of over 20 million and that equals pretty grimy air and makes black difficult to keep clean. I've had my silver Elantra for 3 years and even after it gets hit with one of the "yellow dust" storms we get blowing over from China, it still looks pretty clean. So it is Silver for me again and I recommend it to you Disco if you live in an area with a lot of dust or bad air.

As for Cinnamon/Crimson, Deepwater Blue and Aquamarine, Hyundai doesn't even offer them in Korea! My Korean friends tell me they're not popular colours here, and as everyone seems to be driving silver, black or white cars, I guess Hyundai's decision makes sense. But it would be nice to have some choice.

FYI, here are the Korean domestic market colours:

- White Pearl
- Bright Silver
- Ebony Black
- Steel Gray
- Crystal Silver (to be discontinued)
- Golden Beige (to be discontinued)
- Arctic White

One thing to consider is that there are limited interior/exterior color combinations. I wanted the tan interior and the silver exterior, but that is not an option. I went with the tan interior (cus I see the inside more that the outside) and the golden beige exterior. The goldern beige turned out to be a good choice for looking clean - it hides the salt in the winter. Plus, most of the official Huyndai pictures show the car in biege, so it must be the best color (I could be biased though)!

STEEL GRAY! ....I have Arctic White, but that's only because that was the only 2.4 car available on the lot on that lucky night of Jan. 31...

I went to visit my dealer couple days ago, and had a chance to check all the colors... It was early dusk and I came to the conclusion that ALL of the dark color Sonata are perceived as BLACK. That's a bit disappointing. The Cinnamon Red is beautiful, and so is the Aqua Marine -- but only in bright daylight...

If I had another opportunity, I'd go with the Steet Gray.... Very rich and upscale (and fashionable these days). Still, the white (even more so with the Powder/Pearl White) is very NOBLE and elegant.

The one color I won't buy is SILVER (sorry again, motd). Several car manufacturers are using this color (especially Honda), and I think it's making the car look non-exisiting, like lacking ANY personality. To me it's a no-color color.

Also, one of the issues to consider, is DIRT. A dark car looks dirty much quicker than a white, or light car.
