Cheaper In October/november?

I am looking to buy an Azera. I've heard that the prices will drop a little bit in October/November when the dealerships get their new models (next year) and so they want to get rid of the current models. IS this true? How much can I expect to save if I wait two-three months?

Do you know that October/November is when Hyundai will roll out the '07 Azera?

In general it makes sense that when a new year model arrives, the previous year model cars would be offered at a lower price. The big question is, at that time, how many "old" cars does the dealer have in stock.... If at all.

If sold out of 2006 you could get a good deal on 2007.
I always buy in Dec/Jan or Feb this is when the least number of people buy cars paticularly Dec & Jan and dealers are acheing to make a deal.

Actually... about a months ago was the best time to buy this year.... Anyways, November, December and January are the WRONG time to buy. Hyundai goes into "Shut down mode" meaning we don't get a ton of dealercash, and the incentives are nothing special. Honestly this month or September would be good, October could be stretching it, and if you wait too long you could end up not being able to buy the one you want.

BTW untill the new year rolls around, no dealer is DYING to get rid of last years stock, simply because everyone is looking for a "Left over" because they think it is a great deal.

Very Few People are looking for leftovers or new cars in Dec & Jan. Most people are too busy with Xmax shopping and funds are scarce, in Jan they get the credit cards bills which have to be paid. This has been my experience in the last 35 years and have always got great deals including my present Azera bought in Feb.
Who told you that Hyunday goes into sleep mode, this is when sale are at their lowest and when you get the best deals because Huynday and its dealer still have to move cars/

If your not itchin for a new car, and know exactly what you want to buy, you can always wait unitl a day where the weather is really crappy. Rainy/snowy/cold whatever. Go to the dealer late at night, and they will practically give the car away. Especially if they havent sold anything all day.

I can only tell MY experince...

I went to test drive the Sonata at 7:30 pm on January 31... Had no intention of buying the car, I was only thinking of it, and in any case I was only contemplating maybe selling my old '95 Accord which started getting old... I did some homework, though, and checked ahead of time, how much I could ask for the Accord from a private party.

The manager at the dealership would not let me leave... They gave me a deal which I could not resist. What actually made the deal was them accepting my top-Dollar offer for the old Accord --- without even seeing the car (I was driving my daughter's car on that evening)...

...The dealership was EMPTY during those long hours I spent there... I came in at 7:30 and left at 11:15.

Maybe that's something to keep in mind?

This is total bull!
Every dealership is different, everyday different, every time of day is different. If they are busy, walk away any time of day. If they are no busy, any time of day is good. They'll be itchin' Do your homework, know what you want and it's cost first. Know approx trade in values first if you have one. Many articles point out what a load of *** the end of moth/day/year "good deals" are. Again every day and time of day is different. Do your homework first!

I think that's what GLS was saying?. The best time to buy a Car is when no one else has stepped foot in the Showroom, and you would be the first, perhaps the only Deal of the day. Its happened to me twice during my last 2 Hyundai's at different Dealers!. The KEY is being in the right place at the right time :trophy:

my first quote was a great one, but the bank turned me down.
a canadian GLX, with all the options for $26000.

that was on boxing day (december 26th)
the next decent quote i got was in the middle of february, around 28k for the same car.... dang, wish id gotten the first one.

ended up getting a decent price on the first one i bought, $25000 GL v6, and the second one was $27000 GL v6 sunroof/17s.

all things considered, it depends more on how much your sales staff like you than what day of the month or whether their wife has pms or whatever....

You need to buy an Azura NOW! I almost bought a Azura two weeks ago but instead I bought the Sonata. I was able to price (through the internet) a fully loaded black on black Azura limited for $24.9. The reason why I did not buy a Azura was because I am only the driver of my car. My wife's car is a SUV so we drive that on the weekend's. No reason to drive such a big car that sucks gas. If I were you I would built the car on carsdirect.com and get an idea what the invoice price is going for. Then go on yahoo/cars.com and build you car then when it asked you for quotes you need to get as many quotes as you can and in the remarks area put down the price you are willing to bay. That includes tax, docs and lincence (out the door price use this term). You will be amazed how many dealers will email you matching your price. The next thing you need to do is pick the price you are willing to buy. I did that for my Sonata. Not only did I get the car for Invoice and rebates but they through in the plastic trunk mat and net for free. I also get free oil changes for a while. Remember, don't fight for the price you want let the delarships do that. All you do is sit back until you get the price you want. When you email the dealers say you only pay invoice and use rebates. And you only deal with "out the door price". One Hyundai dealer tried to charge me for advertisement, marketing and holdback fees. I could not hang up fast enough. He wanted to sell me a LX (Gold on tan) with the audio package for 23K, but I got him down to $ 21.6 out the door. But I did not want gold so I found another dealership that matched the price but had the color I wanted (those are the guys that through in the paint sealant, cargo net, trunk mat and oil changes). I thought I got a good deal on my MBZ. The key here is be patient and hold you ground. Good luck.

I've been a Sales Manager at a Hyundai dealership for the last 5 years. Trust me, I know the trends for Hyundai Motors.

This has MUCH more to do with the last DAY of the month, versus the month as a whole. If you went in on January 12th the deal wouldn't have happened.

Yes, Hyundai Canada is completely seperated from Hyundai USA.

I should mention, the true "Sleep Mode" doesn't really happen till January, it sometimes happens in December, but it really depends on Hyundai's numbers. If they look like they are within striking distance of their goal from HMC, they will release the flood gates and they will offer the moon in terms of incentives.

If the already hit the goal, they cut back on the incentive money, and try and improve the bottom line for HMA for the end of the year.

If I had to say when the best deals are, I would have to say the summer months...

A NEW Azera for $19.2K? No F way!!! :w00t: :puzzled: The only way I see it happening @ my local Hyundai dealer is by accepting like $14K for my Fully Loaded LX (just 6K miles). I am not trading my car for less than $17.5K

Any way, I can't find in that ad the discounts distribution. They mention a huge $4386 dealer discount, but it is probably including all the different discounts (fin, loyalty, Armed forces, etc etc etc), then another $1K but it is not clear what kind of discount it is.

Dammit! 1155 miles from where I live. Hummmmmmm.................. I am going to print and show the manager of my local Hyundai this ad. The only thing he can say is yes or no, so I have nothing to loss. Well, maybe he will laugh and then say "no freaking way"
