Hello fellow owners!

Since yesterday, the backup camera started acting up as of yesterday. It started with flickering of the image and then the screen went blank ( dark screen ). Disengage reverse and everything works perfectly ie: Navigation, CD, Bluetooth streaming, AM/FM, Bluetooth Call ect... Anyone having/had similar issues? Any suggestions?

take it to the dealership. I've not had this issue with my SFS but on my Optima i had this happen and the camera was bugged. They just ordered a new one and put it in. No charge. Hyundai warranty FTW

my head unit went bad after one week I purchased the car: It will turn to black screen when using rear view camera under cold weather, and after warm up it is working fine. Dealer replaced camera first, which did not help, and they replace the head unit, problem solved! No problem after that, it has been 20K miles.

This seems to be the only thread with screen/camera issues...
My SFS is now 1.5 years old with 43k on it... got the blue screen while backing up for the first time yesterday - will be calling the dealer. Just wanted to see if others had this issue, and what the fix was.

Sure did, blue screen and everything. Started acting up about 3 months after I got the 2014. It seemed to start fogging up after automatic car washes and heavy rains, then the blue screen was intermittent from day to day. Then the blue screen was permanent.
Dealership took care of it under warranty, camera replacement, in and out of there in 1/2 hour.
I never had a camera before prior to this vehicle, it took a while to trust it, but I must say I really missed it while it was broken and I would never get another vehicle without that feature.

Got this problem 2 weeks ago...

At first it was very slow... like i put on reverse and it took 15-20 seconds to the camera go on...

Couples of days later.. black screen, sometimes, noise in it... sometimes it work...

Since last week... not work anymore.

Got a appointemnet at the dealer for a oil change... they ordered a new camera.. also i have a noise in the passenger rear wheel.... they ordered a wheel bearing... at 37000km... not very impressed!!!

So, my blue screen went away two days after it started - didn't get it to the dealer in time... didn't bother once it started working again because we all know what they would have said....

Anyway, yesterday - happened again, blue screen. Made an appointment right away.
On my way there (running errands) the camera started working again - I wasn't happy about that as I know the service department is going to want to see it blue before they touch it.
When I got to the dealer, it was going blue again!
They said "faulty camera", and it's being replaced under warranty - but they're on backorder, so who knows how long until it's fixed - must be a common issue.

Funny enough, coming back to work this afternoon, started working again - so i'm glad it's getting fixed... Here's hoping it is just the camera and not the "head unit".

Since my post last Thursday - my camera keeps "kicking in and out"... 80% of the time it's a blue screen - but it the picture keep coming in and out while in reverse.
It's almost as if it's not the camera- more like a bad connection/loose wire....
I hope the camera fixes it, we'll see.....

we too now have the blue screen of death. these camera's are NOT covered under the PLATINUM EXTENDED WARRANTY, but the head unit us.

at 46,000 miles, we are pretty pissed off.

if you need a replacement OEM camera, visit www.HyundaiOEMparts.com
(they are a Hyundai dealer, and service center. they have all the OEM parts you need.) they have this camera for 25% less, than any other dealer i called up.

this happens to be a $366 camera. at this point, its almost cheaper to get an aftermarket setup.

Keep us posted on what you end up doing... I think these cameras are crap - especially if you live in the northern parts of the world and have to deal with cold and road salt - seems that's what's killing them.
I'd like an alternate camera if/when this happens outside of my warranty period.

so i disassembled the rear trunk hatch/lid Saturday:

http://www.hyundai-forums.com/dm-2013-santa-fe/365689-diy-disassemble-rear-trunk-lid.html

i cant wait till the camera comes, and i will install it. hopefully this fixes the problem. i will have pictures and maybe video of the install. this weekend was more or less a "dry-run".

the finish panel has to come out, in order to access the camera unit

I have a 2013 and the camera went blue screen 3 days ago. out of warranty. things starting to go kaput on this car.
any ideas?
1. call corporate and file a complaint. this is a MUST. the more people the faster the recall comes out. we will get reimbursed for any repairs.
2. if you are handy, order this, and install it: 95760-2W150 CAMERA Assembly-BACK VIEW Santa Fe | 2014 Santa Fe Parts | 95760-2W150
3. if you have roughly $125 to waste, you can go to the dealer and they can diagnose whats going on. it could be the headunit, or the camera. depending on whether you have the extended (extra) warranty, is whether or not this will be an out of pocket expense.
4. buy the camera, and head to your local car audio installer, or mechanic and they can throw this camera in for you, probably within the hour.
5. if you can follow along DIY video's on youtube, stay tuned. i am awaiting the arrival of my camera from Hyundai Parts | Hyundai Replacement Parts and will do a very detailed youtube video for you guys to use.

we have the extended warranty through hyudai, but it does NOT cover the rear camera. it WILL cover the headunit. so we took a stab in he dark and hope its the camera, and ordered from Hyundai Parts | Hyundai Replacement Parts and will try it. if not, we have an extra camera laying out - and will then go through the warranty, since it will be the headunit's fault.

i am sorry for your (ours) problems, but it seems as if the 2013 rear cam is buggy
