Hey all,

first post here. picked up my Santa Fe Sport 2.0T this past week (mineral gray on gray; tech package; leather, etc.)...

got my phone's synced (Android 4.1.1 Nexus and Apple iPhone 4S) and for the first couple of days, was able to make and receive calls.

Now, however, I can "make" a call and the recipient can hear me on the other end but I can't hear ANYTHING.

Any troubleshooting ideas outside of resetting the entire system?

D

ncbeast, I didn't see your original post, but the volume itself is not the actual issue. The sound just completely drops out at the 15:00 minute mark, whether you have the volume high or low. I still plan on talking to my dealer about this at my first service check, just not there yet. I'll post an update to what they tell me when that happens.

Bluetooth calling muffled

I've tried two different phones (Galaxy Nexus and the new HTC DNA) and the person on the other line just sounds a bit muffled and hard to understand. I'll find myself using my Samsung wired headset instead and then I can understand the other caller better. Has anyone else noticed this?

Also, I feel I have to yell sometimes for the caller to adequately hear me on the other end. I've turned the outgoing volume all the way up, but they sometimes can't hear me very well. This isn't as big of a deal as the first issue above, but it's still something I've noticed.

Speaker Problems with Bluetooth

My 2013 Santa Fe Sport 2.0T has been good with two exceptions. The steering is still so weird but I won't belabor the point since so much has been said.

The second item is when talking on bluetooth (I have an iphone 5) it seems that the emphasis is on a speaker down by my left knee. My wife cannot hear from her passenger seat. Am I missing something? Is there an adjustment? Volume adjustment on the radio does not help. When I place a call, the bluetooth greeting is great and centered.

Same Bluetooth Problem

I have been having the exact problem - I make a call and all goes well for awhile, but eventually I can't hear the person on the other end but they can hear me. Is the dealer equipped to handle a problem like this? I have the Santa Fe Sport with leather and tech packages.

Bluetooth Audio Static Noise

Hello Everyone, I recently bought the 2013 Santa Fe Sport 2.0 T. I have noticed that when listening to music through Bluetooth audio there is a static noise specially on the highs...connecting through the cable sounds perfect. I have an Iphone 5 and have unpaired and pair several times with no improvement. Any body had this problem and solved it? Thanks

You may have already tried this, but be sure you have the audio turned all the way up on the phone. When mine is low, there is a lot more static. I haven't noticed any static if the phone sound is at its max though. Hope it helps.

+1. I also have the SFS 2.0T AWD - with an iPhone 5. Not only is the bluetooth connection not as good quality wise, but not as functional. When you have your lightning plug in the usb port, it changes your phone, and plays the music perfectly. You can see album art on the touch screen, scroll through playlists etc....

I just picked my 2013 Santa Fe Limited. I have I phone 5 which paired fine with the car. But for unknown reason, for the outgoing calls the person I am calling cant hear me while I am able to hear him. The same when I trying to use the voice command to make a call. It says I can't hear you. I and the dealer tried many things to trouble shoot it but no luck. The service manager advice to replace the head Microphone ! and said it may take days.
Is this a common problem with Hyundai?. I am a little disappointed. Any one have Idea or faced the same problem. How was solved ?. Thanks

Bluetooth disconnects at 15 minutes, updates?

Just got back from my dealership where I had my first 3k miles oil change and also had them look at my bluetooth issue where it disconnects at exactly 15 minutes into the call. Of course, after 4 hours, they come back and tell me that Hyundai has its third party vendor responsible for the software working on an update asap. Service guy told me he alone has a handful of people waiting for the same update. He also said that there will be other important updates in the software, which is why its taking longer. These other updates involve something with the timing of some component, I left in a rush from waiting 4 hours, so I don't remember exactly what components he was talking about.

Other than the long wait, I'm actually very curious to find out what these other "important" updates could be.

Any ideas on this? Any of you hear something similar?

Bluetooth issue update

Hi all,

Just wanted to say I finally went in for my 3000 mile service and reported the Bluetooth issue where the call becomes one sided at exactly 15 minutes. The dealership of course stated they could not reproduce the issue after an hour of trying. They then they asked what type of phone was I using. Nice tactic I must say, however, I'm in Information Technology and I told them I could easily recreate this for them with any number of phones since I had paired a good dozen. I added that every phone that was paired with the vehicle seemed to have the issue and if they would like I could recreate it for them right now. I then asked what phones they used to test it out when suddenly they stated that actually no one had a phone with Bluetooth. I hate dealerships for this very reason where everything is pretty much half truths. Needless to say I told them about this forum and specifically berwyn bill's replacement head unit fixing the problem. They were none too happy with having to order the unit, but since it was my first visit they also knew that Hyundai usually sends out another survey about the dealership and they want such good reviews.

End result - I returned when the new head unit was delivered and they installed it. I can report that after two weeks and about 20 calls that went over the 15 minute mark, this issue has been resolved.

dealerships do not get any money from warranty if they do not find or fix your problem . It is in their best interest to find the problem and fix it or no one gets paid .

glad its finally fixed for you

Can't hear caller after 15min using bluetooth phone pairing

Just purchased a 2013 Santa Fe and have my Samsung Galaxy Android phone paired with it.

On both incoming and outgoing calls, after EXACTLY 15 minutes on the line, the caller/call recipient on the other end becomes inaudible. They can still hear me, but I can't hear them. The only solution is to hang up and call back, then I get another 15 min before it happens again.

The fact that the inbound audio cuts out after exactly 15 minutes would seem to suggest that perhaps its caused by some obscure setting somewhere, but I can't find anything in the manuals. Has anyone else experienced this issue??

Yes. Several discussions have occurred right here.

Complain to your dealer and Hyundai corporate.....long and loud.
This "problem" has been know long enough now that there is NO EXCUSE for it to be present in currrent production models.

And I personally think that there should be a way to fix it.....but last I remember there wasn't. Maybe by now they have a way.
