Hey all,

first post here. picked up my Santa Fe Sport 2.0T this past week (mineral gray on gray; tech package; leather, etc.)...

got my phone's synced (Android 4.1.1 Nexus and Apple iPhone 4S) and for the first couple of days, was able to make and receive calls.

Now, however, I can "make" a call and the recipient can hear me on the other end but I can't hear ANYTHING.

Any troubleshooting ideas outside of resetting the entire system?

I've got two phones (Nexus and iPhone 4s). Both initially synced and I was able to make calls with both (and stream too).

In a twist, my wife now cannot seem to stream audio via Bluetooth.

I will be trying the volume deal that pare_John noted previously and will attempt to reset the system after that.

if both routes fail, it's going back to the dealer.

Problem with bluetooth call hang up.

My Samsung Brightside phone paired easily with the handsfreelink of my 2013 SF 2.0T. Everything works well except that I can not end a call via the steering wheel or nav screen. I must wait for the other person to end the call or end the call directly from my phone. I checked the Hyundai Bluetooth compatibility web page and confirmed that the phone including the HUC function should work. Anyone else have this problem?

updating again. nothing new to report.

Bluelink finally decided to work properly (took about 3 weeks to be able to use the app on my phone to do anything).

wife has resorted to streaming via USB (she has several audio streaming apps on her iPhone) and I've reported all my issues to Hyundai Engineering.

Cannot Pair iPhone 4 with 2013 SF

Hi all - I had no problems BT pairing my iPhone 4 with my new SF during my first week of ownership, but have no luck doing the same for the past two weeks.

The most frustrating thing is that I am not sure if this is a iPhone or SF problem, but I have started from scratch multiple times and still no luck.

I erased the SF from my phone BT list, then started the SF in ACC mode. I restarted BT on my iPhone and it goes into "discovery mode" forever and never finds the SF.

I have only owned my SF for three weeks, but the salesman paired the car and phone within seconds during the demo, and I had no problems doing the same for the rest of that week.

I have a iPhone 4 that was on iOS 5.x, but out of desperation upgraded that to iOS 6 yesterday -- still doesn't work.

I am a IT gadget girl and usually can resolve these conflicts, but this one has me stumped. Anyone else have similar problems?

Thanks in advance

Once it's paired, why did/do you have to pair it again? I have an iPhone 4 and had no problem pairing it initially and haven't paired it again. It stays paired.

I erased the SF from my phone BT list, then started the SF in ACC mode. I restarted BT on my iPhone and it goes into "discovery mode" forever and never finds the SF.
I'm not sure, but I believe you have to put a code into the iPhone when it does it's search for the SF. You get the code from the SF monitor.

Hope this helps.

Hi there,

I just bought a 2013 Santa Fe Sport and paired my blackberry 9310 with it. i can make calls and everything, but i have problems after exactly after 15 minutes talking the recipient can hear me but i cant hear anything.

Can someone help me with this???
Very strange, I had the exact same thing happen to me yesterday. I noticed the original poster had problems with hearing from the start of the conversation. Yesterday I was talking on bluetooth, and the call 'dropped' ... or at least I thought it did. I couldn't hear anything, so I hung up, and the person called back. They said they could hear me, but I couldn't hear then. Now when I saw that this happened to you after 15 minutes exactly, I decided to go back and check my phone log. Sure enough, that call was exactly 15:00! Wth?

The only problem I have with the bluetooth is the clarity of any voice talking to another person. I have a I-Phone 5. Before I had a '11 Elantra and many times I was told how clear it was talking on my bluetooth. The SF bluetooth you can very much tell. Not sure what it can be. I understand bluetooth can have some static but I guess after having my '11 Elantra working so good that it just bothers me some what knowing.

Seabrz, I may be late on this and you have it all worked out already, hopefully :)

I'm too new in my Santa Fe have a track record but in my year in an MKZ I found that whenever I upgraded the iOS I had to re-pair.
That meant deleting the "pair" on the iPhone and then re-pair from scratch.

If I did not do that the phone would connect to Sync (BT) but it would not answer calls. I.e. all looked good, but the connection wasn't usable.

Same on iPhone4 and after I upgraded to the 5.

Thanks, hwitten. I did try that, but it has now turned into the workaround each and every time I start the car: Delete iPhone from the SF phone list and on the phone turn BT off and then turn on. It's really quite a hassle as it delays leaving the driveway or parking lot for a few minutes every trip.

Yes, I have to do this EVERY time I turn the car on. Remove my iPhone name from the SF, and "Forget the SF" on my iPhone. Real hassle.

I will visit the dealer sometime this week and see what they recommend.

New to the forum. Just purchased my Santa Fe and I'm also having the same problem described here with bluetooth. At exactly 15 minutes I can no longer hear the caller even though they can hear me. I figured it was a software problem that probably wouldn't be fixed until the next update for the system is out.

Updates are usually handled by the dealership after a service bulletin is sent. I'm not certain if they occur with any frequency other than when problems arise. The only way I even know about the updates is from when my wife received a bulletin to take her car in to the dealer for an update to blue link.

ok now for something completely different, I have a 2012 Sante Fe, my bluetooth system worked quite happily for three months, pairing 3 different phones, I phone, Nokia and a Samsung Ace, then suddenly nothing, I have reset to factory settings but still nothing paired, I search for a phone on the SF and it will quite happily find it, but when I try to pair it, it will get a "insert passkey on device" message but none of my phones can see the SF so hence nothing comes up on the phone to install passkey, I have tried changing the passkey on the SF just in case, but to no avail. So I tried with Ipad, nothing..so thats three different phones (that used to work) and the IPad and no bluetooth pairing, anyone got any ideas?

Bluetooth Work Around

Wanted to post a quick work around for the Bluetooth issue. I found that once you hit the 15 minute mark instead of disconnecting the call and redialing the contact you can hit the Private Call button on the bottom of the touchscreen which will switch the call to your phone. After that hit Handsfree button and you can hear the person again. I now keep an eye on call length and as soon as I hit the 15 minute mark I toggle Private call and back to Handsfree which takes a few seconds and I'm back in business.

I'm close to my first service inspection, so when I take my Santa Fe into the dealer I'll report the Bluetooth issue as well.

Greetings to the '13 Santa Fe Owners!!

Greets to the group...been reading here & a couple of other places for a bit. I signed up here and just wanted to add my 1/50th of a dollar to the discussion.

Perhaps another BT idiosyncrasy - and I'm gonna pin it on the software of the - well, it's not really a radio, is it? :D In-dash entertainment device?? (Be gentle, our first vehicle with a radio with this much in the bells and whistles category...)

My wife and I both own Motorola Droid Razr Maxx (xt912) phones. Her phone (paired first) has zero issues with initiating connections. Even though she has no media currently on her phone, the 'radio' can see it as both a phone and as a BT media device.

Now, if my phone is paired (second on the list of BT devices...) along with hers, it can only be a phone - obviously, when my wife has her phone either out of range or turned off.

Tomorrow, I'll reverse the process - wipe her phone out of the list and try only my phone (which has some media on it...)

Now, in addition, the dealership here (Jim Click) is having an owner's get together tomorrow evening that we'll be attending. I'll see if others are reporting similar situations, and report back in the next day or two.

Update...

It was a generic "Welcome to the family!" meeting, held in the service department. My wife & I have never been to one of those, now I know why. My wife commented "Gee, maybe I should volunteer to teach a class like that"...she's quite the gear-head, I am impressed.

Opportunities to ask the question were there, but the room was full of folks who seemed to be needing a lot more help with their vehicles than we did with ours, so...I chose not to at that time.

Back to my BT situation. My phone paired up manually without issue yesterday, out of range from my wife's, which we have set up to pair automatically. This all makes sense; first BT device paired, you can get audio and phone.
