You can take the centre out
You need to pull it out, there is no screws, but 6 strong plastic clips one each corner and then in the middle down each side.
You will need to disconnect the air duct flap control cable, and also the heater/vent control cables,
there is several multi pin electrical connectors for switches ect; that need to be unclipped then you should be able to pull the centre away.
The control cables will come out with the cover.

THE CLIPS ARE VERY STIFF......

Where did you grab the dashboard? I can't find the proper place to hold and pull. I have a feeling that it will break.

 

It is often best to grab it right under the radio , there you have the most grip og pull it backwards.
Be careful though becouse the clips on top are the most fragile.

I just went to the dealer and they were kind enough to do it for me. And they gave me a pair of those clips for later use if I needed them.

its a small, yet brilliant tool....

 

How do you remove the heater and vent cables

 

You just have to slide them off from their locked position on those white bumps.

 

where abouts is the white bumps????

i just bought a 2007, and the central dashboard its a little bit loose and I cannot put it in place.
