Does the BlueLink app use Wifi or just the cell data connection? Sometimes when I have a weak signal it tells me something about reviewing my car's package (usually happens when it can't connect) and other times it fails even though I can log in. My sister has shotty Wifi (it'll show a strong signal but will still take forever to download anything, then at other times it's normal & high-speed) but even when it seems to work I still couldn't get the car to remotely start. I'm not sure if it's her shotty Wifi or a bad signal or both. Does it switch to Wifi if available?

I remote start my car from my apartment when my phone is running on my Wifi no problem. I also start it when on 4G from work or other places.
I've gotten it to work on wifi or cell.
Note that remote start requires that the car be locked first. That trips up lots of people (myself included for a while).

Mine works fine on either wifi or 4g. The only time I have a problem is if I walk out of a wifi area and its switching to 4g when I'm using the app it seems to throw it off and I have to start over.
