Blacking Out Hyundai Emblem

Has anybody tried to black out the chrome Hyundai emblem? My new Accent Sport is Ebony Black. In addition to debadging the rear, I was thinking of removing the chrome logo, painting it at glossy black and sticking it back on. Alternatively, I could spray it red to match the color of the tail lights. Seemed to me that the black might look subtle but wicked, whereas red might look too cute.

Anyone tried this? Any advice?

King of Darkness -- Looks like you've got a gun metal shade there. What did you use? It might look fabulous on black. Got any pictures of the final product?

my hyundai symbol in the back is chrome too, i am planning on cutting out an oval piece of plastic or something and glueing it on the back of the H, then i was going to sand down the H so its flat then fill in the whole thing with bondo then sand it, etc. and then paint over the whole symbol so it could look something like the ford symbol without the letters, then later if i wanted to i could put a vinyl or something over it with my own emblem, i was originally thinking the batman symbol but my car doesnt have yellow accent colors. let me know what you guys think.its raining today so ill probably start it today

John -- Did you get an extra 10 hp simply by adding the cold intake, or did you do some other things? I've been toying with the intake idea but have wondered whether it's really worth the expense. The dealer/stealer told me all I'd get was a different sound and maybe an extra 2 or 3 hp.

hey man, i just guessed how many horsepower i got from the AEM short ram intake, the coolant bypass mod and Royal Purple synthetic oil.i havent brought it to a dyno or anything, im not really interested in horsepower i just want the car to get the best gas mileage.i am going to get a quiet cat back exhaust some day because the stock one sucks and doesnt let all the air out. i cut open my stock exhaust on my last car and there was literally a block in the center of it so barely any air could get around it.if you are looking for real horsepower talk to Rafael because he has tons of performance mods, his cardomain is : http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3238336 -he sold me his old intake for really cheap and he has givin me so many helpful hints and tips.we talk all the time so im sure he would be more than happy to answer any questions you have.thanks again for the support Hack Writer and i hope to keep modding more stuff and putting it up on here instead of cardomain so the pics actually stay here.

[attachment=14085:after.jpg]here is what i have done so far today with the emblem, to take it off i used a very light card, then took fishing line and went around the outside, etc. i put this plastic part on the back for now until i find something more sturdy to attach it to. i am going to the store to buy bondo now and look for more ideas.
