At the New York Auto Show I found someone at the Hyundai area to vent on. I don't know if she was an actual representative or a hired face to walk around and talk about the car.

She said by the fall of 2012 there shouldn't be any bugs. She tried to tell me that they always planned to have it done by 2013 calender year but the execs wanted it in the 2012 models so it was rushed out before all the software was finalized.

App is still broken on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich...

 

How much does the essentials package cost? I'm still in the free trial mode.

I'm excited for the remote start to work, will love it in the winter.

 

Remote start will work right now via a phone call. Call 855-225-8354, select option 1, then 1 again, log in, and say "start engine". The car has to be locked.

The android app, on the other hand, has apparently been abandoned. It won't even run on the latest version of android. I am still on the trial of blue link, unless the app is updated I will be canceling.

 

I'm sure they will upate it to run on ICS in 2.0 that will get released next month.

I have wasted my time waiting for promised software updates since before computers had mouses - I'll believe it when I see it!

 

I just finished trying to remote start my car from a iphone (instead of android) and it's still not starting and giving me the message, "coming soon"... Sonata SE built 11/11

 

It's MAY 2ND where is the update BlueLink 2.0?

"Coming soon" for 10 months. "Soon" is a relative term. "Soon" to Hyundai could mean by 2013.

I just logged on to hyundaitechinfo.com and as of yesterday there are two new TSBs regarding remote start and the YF Sonata -

12-BE-009 SONATA BCM SOFTWARE REPROGRAMMING FOR BLUE LINK REMOTE START

and

12-BE-008 BLUE LINK REMOTE START RETROFIT

 

As of this morning, the Remote Start button on my iPhone app works. Build date 10/18/11.

Does it provide confirmation in the app that the car is running?

 

It absolutely finally works and it does say engine running. There was no update to download though.

Awesome. They enabled it just a few days after my Essentials package expired.

My car is in a garage most of the time anyways. I have to go out there and open the door before I can start the car, so I might as well start it my self.

I am glad they FINALLY enabled it though.

 

I get to putting in my pin and get an email saying it failed and try again.

 

The TSB issued yesterday says 2012 MY vehicles built before 9/27/11 will need to have new BCM, SMK and PDM modules installed in order for the remote start to work. It looks like as long as you have an active Blue Link Essentials subscription, the swap will be done for free.

I guess I should have searched before starting a new remote start tbread, bur mine started working yesterday as well

 

Works from my wife's phone (Android 2.3.4)! Which is awesome...but it still doesn't work on my phone (Android 4.0). ******* Hyundai needs to fix this already. 4.0 has been out for 5 or 6 months already.

 

Works for me on my 2012 SE built in March 2012 and I am using Samsung Galaxy S2 with android version 2.3.6

 

app on my iphone now lets me start engine and says engine is running...however, it does not start my car Build date of 02/2012
