Has anyone found a hitch that will fit the 2021 model? Dealers and aftermarket producers have no idea yet. I understand there may be a spare tire interference issue?
Thanks in advance.

Curt class 3 hitch model 13195 is what I bought to fit my 2020 Santa Fe. I got it on eBay and it said it was for a Kia Sorento. The instructions only listed a 2019 Santa Fe but it fit my 2020 exactly. I believe Hyundai changed the chassis for 2021 so I don’t know if that will be a problem or not. Here is the link.

I also ordered the Curt 56420 wiring harness. This is a plug and play part, nothing special needs done. You connect it from below on the driver’s side. There was a fairly large black cover, sort of box shaped, just inside the rear bumper and behind the rear wheel that had to be removed, and then the harness simply plugged into the wiring that was already there. The factory harness had a plastic cover snapped onto it that I had to remove and then plug my new harness into it. Here is the link to the harness.

This is info for a 2020, which should also work for a 2019. But I don’t know how much of it will help you with a 2021 model. It’s worth checking into.

Its interesting that some 21 SF's photos do not show a tailpipe coming through the bumper & some show a tailpipe. My 2021 SF Limited has a tailpipe showing. Not sure about the hitch as I am waiting for one also. I purchased some mud flaps for a 2020 SF, OEM. They fit my 21 but there is a slight difference from 20 to 21's. Anyone else should wait for the 21's.

I posted some info about a hitch and wiring harness for a 2020 but the post contained links so it’s waiting on moderator approval. Not sure it will help with the 2021 cause I’ve read that Hyundai redesigned the chassis so the bolt patterns may not line up anymore. I bought a Curt class 3 hitch, model 13195, and a Curt wiring harness, model 56420, and they fit my 2020 Santa Fe perfectly. I got them from eBay and the hitch was only listed as fitting a Kia Sorento but it works on the Hyundai also. Then the instructions it came with said 2019 Santa Fe with no mention of the 2020, but it did say 2020 Sorento. Can’t account for all that confusion. All I know is they bolted up and plugged up perfectly with no modifications at all.

It's too bad Hyundai did not opt for the dual exhausts as most manufacturers do today. Personally I think it gives it a more symmetric look. Also, with the Subaru Outback, I know that dealers have been cutting into the bumper cover when installing the trailer hitch and unfortunately some are more skilled at doing it then others. Wonder if that will be necessary here.

Bought the 2021 Santa Fe specifically to tow next month. All Hyundai salesman said their dealership could install. We have been trying for 2 months now to find a hitch. Hyundai just keeps saying try back in a month or two. I just filed a complaint with the Hyundai complaint department and waiting to hear back. False advertising as this car cannot tow without the hitch which isn't in existence. Class action law suit???? Lemon law???? Anyone check on having a hitch custom made?

We did have 2 dealerships quote us a price for the hitch install, but when we went to actually have it done the hitch does not exist yet. Ours is a 2021 Santa Fe Limited 2.5T and yes the 7 pin harness is already there. Where are you located and can this dealership actually install the tow hitch for you now? I would like to call the dealership you mention. Interesting that some Kia models also have issues with towing capacity false advertising and owner's were mentioning class action suits last year. Same car really.

Colorado give them a call at Autonation Hyundai 104, parts department. I will try to grab the part numbers off the quote here shortly. Quote was around $500ish for both the harness and tow hitch.

Also U-Haul does have the hitch for the 2021, I confirmed this and their install out the door was less than $500. However they only give you a 4 pin harness and it just dangles as far as I know... Not what I am looking for on a new vehicle. I will stick with dealership.

Thanks for the reply. I just called AutoNation Hyundai 104 there in Colorado and spoke with the parts department. He confirmed that the they do not have the tow hitch, so I think whoever gave you that quote was not correct. Same thing we ran into at our dealership....quoted me a price...they couldn't deliver. Also just checked again with my UHaul.....still not available. I would be interested in that part number if you have it. Thanks again...just cancelled my first camping trip.....hope the whole summer won't be lost.

That is so funny just spoke to the dealership and told them to get their stuff together because I just purchased a $40k vehicle and partially based the purchase off the tow hitch quote/tow hitch being available. They are digging further and going to get back to me. He may find out that the 2020 OEM one fits the 2021... We shall see.

They will tell us anything to make the sale....lies.....2020 does not fit....looks like we are in the same boat :-( Just spoke to my Hyundai parts manager, he checked with someone at Hyundai higher up the food chain. Response: "not sure when it will be available, still working on design since car redesign, not even a prototype yet, keep checking back every few weeks". Anyone know a good law firm :_)

Just wait for Curt or Reese. It will be in the area of $150 or less as they usually are for most applications. the aftermarket harness will be inexpensive as well. Keep checking etrailer.com or similar sites. Ford wanted $450 for my factory Ranger hitch, I got a Reese for $125 and it looks exactly the same. Curt or Reese who are the 2 largest probably makes them for the manufacturers, they just have to go through so many hands before the customer and each adds a level of profit as it passes by. I have bought several and have never had a fitment or parts issue.

Do you know when (and if) the dealership installs the tow package what exactly that includes? Is the tow package the tow hitch, harness and ball? Does the tow package include the electric brake controller? As one is required to tow anything over 1500 lb, you can't get to 3500 towing capacity without one. Right now there are no brake controllers available either that I can find. Are you going to put a sway bar on your car? Do you think the inbuilt trailer sway control feature is adequate?
