Hello,
Checking to see if anyone else is facing issue with Refill Inverter Coolant message popping up on your 2021 Santa Fe Hybrid Limited even though coolant is at max level. I went to dealer to show the message, he just made sure to max the coolant again but the message pops up again and again.

Update.

I dropped off today for oil change and Inverter Coolant Light.

I was told that they’re being advised to continue to flush the inverter coolant system multiple times to get all containments out so I left the vehicle there and was given a loaner.

We’ll see what happens once I get it back 🤷🏻‍♂️

After communicating with the Service Dept. manager, they advised me to NOT use the same coolant in the Inverter as the Engine reservoir. They quoted me $32 for engine coolant and $52 for Inverter coolant. (ouch). I passed on the Inverter fluid, since the thing shows full. Will address the erroneous Inverter warning at a later date. Service guy said he had seen it before and not to worry. Just keep an eye on the level and if top-off is required I could use distilled water.

Tomorrow will be the third visit to the dealership in a week to try and get this resolved. It’s not just North American cars with the issue, I’m in the U.K. I managed to post my experience in the 2019 forum rather than this one...!
1. recall - flush & refill performed
warning message back following day
2. re-bled and topped up
warning message back on following day, header tank virtually empty. I’d say the volume of fluid lost is more likely a leak than trapped air.
3. see what they say tomorrow…….

Recall was released last week. had my blue color inverter fluid drained and replaced with pink colored fluid. I was told blue had contamination (?). Check with your dealer again.
My Santa Fe hybrid Limited has 32,000+ miles .

I have seen references to TSB 22-HC-002H which was issued in August of 2022. but have not seen a recall notice. I wonder when (or if) we will see it. Interestingly, this TSB does NOT call for the blue fluid to be replaced with pink.

You should still be under warranty. I was not charged to have my old coolant flushed and replaced. It took about 5-6 hours and seemed to work during the cool months but now that it is hot again, my light comes back on. Someone else said to start the car with the door open which prevents the light from coming on and that works but what does it say about the safety system. My coolant reserve is full so I feel ok not rushing back to the dealer for now.

I'm having this Revill Inverter Coolant message pop up now as well (July 2023). Thank you Rakesh Palla for initiating this post. From my reading of all of the responses, we must take this into the shop for Hyundai service to resolve and,(am I correct in thinking that), there's nothing we can do ourselves to remedy the problem??

I’m going to chime in as well. We’ve had the annoying intermittent refill inverter coolant light warning also. Dealership has flushed the coolant system twice and it continues to come back on. Strangely enough, when I check under the hood, the blue fluid in the inverter coolant located more to the front (says the manual) with blue fluid is at max level, but the pink fluid in the reservoir more to the back of the hood area looks it be at the min level?
What am I missing here?

An Update for my 2021 Santa Fe Hybrid Limited. Today the dealer flushed the Inverter fluid and replaced it with a Pink solution. (The pink they used is NOT the same as the engine coolant but just a s expensive as the Blue stuff) They did NOT remove the front bumper and the process took about 2.5 hrs. The service advisor had the opinion that the problem was not that the blue fluid was crystalizing, rather the sensor is faulty. It has been cooler here in Tucson because of Monsoon season, so the warning had not come up in over 4 days. As the temps get hotter we will see if this has fixed the problem. It concerns me that Hyundai has not issued an official Recall on this problem.

Your service fella feeding you a line of (well you know).

19010 Green and 19098 Pink is reported to be same chemical blend, comes down to dye that color the ethylene glycol

Blue is in the 2nd formula, it is a low conductivity material, used for cooling EV battery. Cannot have coolant leak inside the battery pack under car shorting stuff via high conductivity coolant.

I have a 2022 santa fe hybrid at dealership service now, hasn't even been looked at since dropping off over a week ago; had to coast into the place since vehicle lost acceleration on the interstate, inverter coolant message came on, then engine light. I see the service bulletin (that should be a recall) I don't find this vehicle to be safe at all after this, and I will be reaching out to Hyundai manufacturing soon.

Wow, the first I heard of this specific issue in combination with the Inverter Coolant Light. Ours would randomly come on but there seems to be no driving issues. It took 11 months for the dealership to actually address it (see my comments in this thread). But whatever they did the warning light did stop coming on. Please keep us updated on your issue. Though our 2021 Santa Fe Limited Hybrid AWD has been sitting at the dealership since Apr 17 with a completely different issue, DTC P0471 created another thread for that. SMDH...

Honestly, your best situation is to trade it in while it's there.
They will not be able to fix it, but will either replace things or do the flush and fill with different fluid and TELL you it's fixed, but guaranteed the light / warning will be back on when the temp gets above 90 to 95 degrees, and you've driven it , then shut it off, then go to drive again while it's hot.
Bam! Warning!
It's a temperature thing, period.
It needs a higher volume pump, and or a larger cooling radiator for the inverter.

I saw the message for the first time today on my 2022 Hybrid Blue. It was parked under the 95 degree sun for an hour. It came up right after I started the car.

Strange thing is the dealer performed the fix for the inverter cooler recall just a couple of months ago.

I checked for the blue and pink fluids and it seems to be sufficient.

Yep. Told everyone the fix isn't a fix. Mine was "fixed" with the flush and replacement pink fluid last year...
My 2022 Santa Fe Hybrid, CHECK INVERTER FLUID warning came on after my second drive today, outside air temp 99 degrees.

HEY HYUNDAI ITS A TEMPERATURE THING.

Needs a higher volume coolant pump , or a larger radiator, maybe both !

Someone at Hyundai get back to the engineering board and come out with a REAL REPAIR !

Which trim do you have?
If you still have the blue fluid the dealer didn’t do the repair it should be pink after the system is flushed and new fluid added
What do you mean? Both reservoirs should be pink? The receipt shows that it was done.

#178 ·
Yes both reservoirs should be pink. My ’21 hybrid was done last August and the dealer started work around 1pm on a Friday and I got the car back late Saturday morning and the blue coolant was replaced with the same pink coolant that is used in the engine. So far the warning has not returned but I also have not done any extended driving with the temperature in the 90’s so I don’t know if the problem will return. One thing I discovered last year in this thread is that you can “clear” the alert by starting the car with the driver’s door open so that it doesn’t keep popping up while you’re driving

#179 ·
Well, as far as my experience has gone, as soon as the outside air temperature is above 90 to 95 degrees, and you drive the Hybrid for some time, then park for a while, when you go to start up again , the Hybrid Fluid warning Will come back on.

As to the starting up with the door open, that's a new one I'll have to try. Forgive me if I hold little hope for that to do anything though. You can temporarily cancel the warning for like 3 seconds if you press the OK button on the right steering wheel control pad. But it fixes nothing.

Well if you want to have some educational time... Track the vehicle with your app. A couple times each day
I'll wager it MAY spend 1 day about 2 hours inside the shop, and then the rest of the week, it will sit on their lot untouched.
Multiple posts on here say the same thing.
I wish you luck, but hold little hope you will have a positive PERMANENT repair fix done.
Unless Hyundai comes up with something more than changing the fluid type, this will go on when it's hot outside.
Not looking forward to next week here, temps. predicted over 100 degrees for 6 or more days in a row, so I'll be seeing the light !

Well , I will only speak to what I know. My 2022 Santa Fe has the issue, the 2023 has the exact same system, as well as other Hyundai Hybrids like the Hybrid Tucson . As to the 2024 Santa Fe, I understand it has the exact same engine / hybrid system.
My personal biggest beef isn't with my Santa Fe, it's with Hyundai dealerships and Hyundai corporate!
Dealership personal have Zero Diagnostic Skills, beyond hooking up their code reader, and seeing No Code. They didn't properly service my 2022 when I took it in for the "current fix" they made a mess under the hood, and didn't follow the procedure properly causing my vehicle to fail dramatically on the way home, requiring a flatbed tow back to the dealership.
When Hyundai corporate was contacted (multiple times) all they did was wash their hands of the whole issue, and defer back to the dealership. Yes I e tried multiple dealerships.
I like the Santa Fe, but won't give Hyundai my Business further. A 10 year 100k warranty means nothing if they can't or won't fix your vehicle!

Likewise - I got the car with the really cool warranty because I wanted my wife to be able to take the car in for service without fear of getting worked over "because she's a woman".
Too many times she'd come home and tell me they charged her for services not needed (like an interior cabin filter after only 10K miles) and they wound up breaking more than they fixed.
This last round, she took it in for a simple oil change, with an appointment, and was told they could see her for at least 3 hours. I told her to bring it home and I'd do it myself. Honestly, that decision was the best I made, because it forced me to look at the car in deeper detail. I found an engine/transmission oil leak (still havent pinpointed where from), then found a 13mm body bolt just rolling around in the engine compartment. The A/C hasnt worked properly since they replaced the cabin filter (blows hot on the driver side, cold on the passenger side) and of course the ongoing inverter coolant problem.
I had thought of trying other dealerships, but it sounds like a systemic problem, so glad to hear your viewpoint on that.
