:blink:Hello Folks,

I was curious to know if there's a how to video on installing OEM LED fog lights on my 2017 Elantra. Also I found some OEM's on Ebay but wasn't sure if bought were they plug-n-play because I didn't want to steer away from the factory look. Right now I have the black plastic covers where the fog lamps would go. Thanks in advance.

If you're talking about the LED DTR lights that the North American model has then it should be easy. Remove the bumper by removing the push clips and the Phillip screw on each side inside the wheel well attaching the bumper to the fender. Slowly detach one side of the bumper at a time. Now idk if your car even has the plug connectors for the DTR's. You might have to splice, depends on where you bought the LED DTR's if it came with the wiring. I believe you might have to un-clip the black plastic where the lights would go from the inside or Dremel out a cavity for the lights to place in.

Wanted fog lamps, we have fog, ordered those with the Elantra, could not do this with the Cruze, dealer installed only, like I wanted some kid screwy around with my new car. Ordered an OEM set from ebay, cheap, instructions said to remove the front bumper first.

After about ten seconds of study, no need to, just the engine under cover had to be removed, only reason for removing the front bumper was two end screws you could not reach with a standard screwdriver, but I guess they never heard of a right angled screw driver, saved a lot of needless work.

Generally takes three guys to mount the bumper, one on each end to align it, 3rd underneath to attached the fasteners. Don't want to twist it, may break it.

All you have to do is to remove the engine undercover, so you can see what going on. Shop manual recommends you have a helper for this, if the under cover twists too much, may break it, I just use blocks to hold it up, torque is 4.3 ft.-lbs.

But this is not the whole story, do you have a four position light switch, and is your BCM programmed to switch them on plus the connectors? These are questions that I cannot answer.

My Cruze was a 2012, when GM heard DIYers were installing their own fog lamps, changed the firmware in the BCM so they would not work. And also did the same thing for adding cruise control to base models. Least Kia was not this dirty, 15 buck cruise switch is all in needed, could have tacked on two more wires, but paid an extra 40 for a harness with those two extra wires on it.

Had, just about as many parts left over as I put on, paid for those parts, worthless, so ended up in a land fill someplace. Just find it a lot easier, and not that much more expensive to get the car with all the options you want.

Some just ordered the cheapest fogs they could find on ebay, but then you have to add a switch, if you want that on the dash someplace, have to drill a hole in the firewall, be careful where you drill kind of thing.
