2016 Plug-in Hybrid: LED accents on the headlamps?

Hi all,

I drive a 2016 Plug-in Hybrid. From what I've seen the headlights are the same for the 2016 HSH and for 2017 Plug-in Hybrid. On the headlights, there is a strip of matte translucent white-ish plastic that looks like it could be lit up by LEDs. In addition, these strips look exactly like the translucent strips on the taillights, which indeed glow red at night. But on my car, the headlight strips never come on. Has anybody seen theirs light up?

(on the image below, it's the L-shaped strip under the HID)

In the below video, the narrator says that the translucent strips are indeed the LED accents, but the video doesn't show them on.

If there are no LEDs that might be activated there, has anybody looked into trying to install LEDs to light these strips up?

Any input is welcome.

There seems to be variations. HSH, non-plug in. There are DRL as noted on the headlight stalk, this is a strip around were the fog lights are usually set.
I have HID, and they pretty well cover where the fog lights usually light.

My 2014 SFS had that LED strip lit by the headlights, but only when the headlights were on. So they weren't that useful. I added Phillips 8 bulb DRL to the grill of my SFS after someone pulled out in front of me at dusk, before the headlights turned on.

The problem with the "eyebrow" lights were they were not as "white" as the HID headlights. Some SFS users tore out the headlight and put in "whiter" bulbs in that strip to match the HID headlights. A bit overblown. I wonder why they removed them ? ? It did look "cool".

I just found out (reading the manual) that the HID headlight bulb in my Ultimate is both my low and high. Some "shield" uncovers in the housing to go to "high".
These cars do not have fog lights, but the low HID's really cover all the front of the car.

Only drove a few miles in my new HSH.
