Jumping the gun a little, I know, but when do you think we'll have the specs and pics for the 2014 model?
I can't wait to know to see if we get good stuff the 2013 didn't get like HID's, DRL's, memory seats, pandora, bug fixes, steering changes or will it stay the same...
It must not be too far away because I was watching Motortrendtv last week and they started talking about the 2014 kia Forte, which will now have the electric assist w/3 modes like the SF, I bet a lot of people will complain about changing the steering.

I was kind of hoping the ventilated seats would come with the popular equipment (like heated seats) or at least with the Premium equipment, but it looks like it will be included in the Tech package. :(

My 13 had popular equipment and leather/premium package... If I get a 2014 (mine 2013 was totaled last week) with the same packages, I will GAIN blind spot monitoring and rear window shades, but LOSE heated rear seats and premium door sill plates... for a price increase of about $500.

Re: my above post.

I see what happened. They made the Premium Equipment Package standard on the base, hence the price increase to $32,200. Previously, the price of 2.0T AWD with Premium Package was $32,150 (excl. $855 destination), so they basically raised this by $50.

However, they significantly raised the price of the Technology Package! In MY13, the MSRP of 2.0T AWD with Technology package was $35,050 (excl. $855 destination) and now it is $32,200 + $4,350 = $36,550 (excl. $855 destination).

Not cool, Hyundai!

I gotta laugh when people are surprised when they get more features but the prices go up. We Canadians who have been on this forum since last year when the SFS was released, have been been preaching that the extra features we have up here in Canada don't come cheap. Compare our prices to yours for the 2013 and you will see that, although we had the extra features, folks up here paid dearly for them.

Can't have it both ways. I mean look...some people were paying $400 for a set of after market LED taillights to upgrade their SFS. Add all those things up and I bet you'll still be better off via the Hyundai package offer.

So, in the words of Bobby McFerrin, "don't worry, be happy" that Hyundai is now offering features that many of you have been clamoring for. I think this is all good. :D

So, delta between 2.0T 'Base' 2014 and 2.0T with Leather and Premium Equipment Package :

Lose - 19" Inch wheels, Gain - Blind spot detection system & Manual rear side window sunshades. Otherwise they are the same? Price increase $50?
+ lose Premium door sill plates, moved to Tech Pkg. Buying a 2013 with Leather & Premium pkg is not bad deal if you still want to go that path...

#68 ·
Would it be safe to say that they only difference between my 2013 Canadian 2.0T Limited and the 2014 US 2.0t with Tech package is Blind spot detection LED rear tailights? 2013 Canadian version had HID head lights, ventilated seats, rear parking assist, and rear window sunshades. I know everyone can buy the led tail lights, but can you add the blind spot detection to a 2013 model?

Included or as an option?

Oh man. If it is the new remote start kits that came out from Hyundai up here a few months ago, I caution to check out the remote start threads here and in the LWB forum. Read about the quirks and decide whether you can live with them before getting too excited.

query

it says "Bodycolor exterior power mirrors", is that power folding or just power adjustable? and does that mean the 2014 sport still doesnt get power folding mirrors?

I am undecided between kia sorento and hyundai SFS, power folding mirror would really be nice for my garage else it will be tight

Hyundai is the only manufacturer that is doing this to this degree. As I said the reason I did not buy a 2013 was due to terrible color selections and the option pkgs were really bad. I will gladly pay for the options I want but I am not interested in paying for options I do not want. I have been fighting with the satellite tv providers for years now over the same thing. I can go to any other manufacturer and I can build the vehicle to my liking what the **** is Hyundai doing here??
I was waiting for the 2014 model to see if they made any changes however I see that they may have made things even worse than they were in 2013.

Weel it is off to the Ford dealer tomorrow. Thye can build me an Edge with the options I want and not load up the vehicle with nav, glass roofs that you cannot open the shades unless you open the roof, force you to purchase a 2.0T just to get HID's etc. This is BS!!!

At least Hyundai listened and put all the good stuff Canada and Europe were getting, it's all or nothing, sucks, I know, but now I will get the tech package for sure, I was always planning on getting the turbo 4 anyway.
Color selection is fine, mineral grey looks great, canyon copper is nice too, nothing to complain about here.
Ford, SYNC is a mess and warranty is nowhere near what Hyundai/Kia offer, think twice about it.
I thought about a Ford Edge sport, but it gets worse 0-60 and longer braking distance due to the huge wheels, nice going Ford, stupids! and with SYNC the way it is a huge PITA to operate, I just dismissed Ford a long time ago.

Zero to sixty really??? If I was concerned about how fast I can get to 60 mph then I would be looking at a Porsche Cayenne not a SFS! Who cares this is and CUV not a sports car.
Ford Sync works really well it is the MFT that has caused some concerns. However I tried the new version of this and it works really well. It is really nice to just press a button on the steering wheel and say "Set temperature to 70 deg" and it does it.
As far as warranty goes Ford offers 5 years on the power train now and that is all that is important to me. I have a 2010 SF Ltd and I have never had to use the warranty on anything other than mechanical issues. Also if you get a chance to read the actual warranty for Hyundai you will see that as the warranty moves into the later stages there is some definition there that is well let's just say not as comprehensive as the customer is led to believe.
Not interested in 20" wheels as they have a higher gear ratio causing higher rpm's and thus lowering fuel economy. They look great though.
Big thing here is that I am not pulling out money for options that I have no need for. :(

Still waiting to hear what changes were made here in Canada for 2014 before making my decision. I like the SF however I am thoroughly pissed with marketing BS. I have contacted the local dealer but have not heard back from them yet as to the changes. B)
