For fellow Canucks, see response below from Hyundai Canada, although she didn't really answer my question as to when the pricing info or the vehicles themselves would be available in Canada, nor does she quite get that the Sport is in fact the short wheel based version. :wallbash: I will reply and seek clarification.

Perhaps we can use this thread for SF release info in Canada???

______

Thank you for your email concerning the 2013 Santa Fe. We apologize for the delay in our response.

The 2013 Santa Fe is not available in the sport trim level. It is available in the following trim levels: premium, luxury, SE and limited. The interior seat colour is either grey or black. The seven seater Santa Fe will not be available until early 2013.

Thank you for writing to us and for your interest in Hyundai products.

Yours truly,

Anyone looking for a SF in Ottawa should drop by Kanata Hyundai. Was in the area and they have a wack of them...11 to be specific including the one in the showroom. They have every color except Serano red. Only 2 have the tech package with Nav and upgraded stereo.

BTW, NAV screen looked 8" on the diagonal to me. Also, the upgraded stereo with the tech package does have 12 speakers....I counted. :D

Ok, clicked on a link to the Canadian Hyundai website, and the first pic in the Santa Fe gallery is what seems to be the off-white colour which seems to be offered only in Korea. Or...perhaps its just the colouring in the picture or my PC. Appreciate others taking a look to verify it's not just my eyes.

If it is, not sure why they have it so prominently displayed when they don't even offer it here. What a tease, or perhaps this a hint that the colour may be offered eventually, or perhaps on the LWB???

I hope so...I really like it.

After drving the car for 2 days the milage is showing an avg. of 11L/100k. That is a mix of city and highway. Also keep in mide I am trying to keep the revs moving to work the engine in smoothly. I believe that with some practise on the pedal I can get it down around the 8's for highway only but that wont be for a while. The interior is quiet and have no problems like the americans. I have yet to find a flaw with the car...knock on wood. I have a feeling the gas cap may be a problem but before I drove the car off the lot I cleaned the cap and opening of the gas tank to see if the light comes on. Our gas gauge is moving quick and I think that it will yield only 500kms on a tank. I could be wrong but traffic during the weeks sucks so im sure it will not be that great. Hopefully it will get better as the engine loosens up. Now I have to plan for winter tires as the predictions are for snow this year unlike last year.

I have been driving for 2 weeks and I have about 9L/100km, but if you do the math it is actually a little higher than what the computer is stating. According to the fuel range propaganda I should be getting approx. 530 to 550km per tank, I also burn premium fuel may not get that much better mileage, but I believe it is better for the engine. I hope it does get better over time.

good to see the fuel economy is better. My wife is driving the car so I don't anticipate anything better as she has a bit of a lead foot. I am using regular 87 octane as I have not seen much of a performance gain when it comes to milage. My Sonata uses regular all the time and I am getting some great fuel economy. But that is just me. I used to have a turbo car that required premium because of the compression ratio.

I suspect the accent is actually considered the daytime running lights. Not sure how bright in the day though.

If I am correct, then I suspect, if anything like my Highlander, those are on when you are in OFF or auto mode. And fogs are on the same control arm and will only illuminate when the headlights are actually in the auto or ON mode.

Hope to be proved wrong though!!

Just bought mine ...

... last week and was able to get $1000 off the list price for the Premium 2.0T AWD at Oakville Hyundai (Ontario).

NOTE: If you happen to be shopping for a SF right now, you might be interested to know that a salesperson at the Burlington dealership left me a message to say she has heard that there will be incentives on the Santa Fe coming soon (BUT, she was unsure whether these incentives would be $'s or financing or both). Something to be aware of.

I tried the top of line Murano with my son. He hated the seating and I hated the CVT transmission. Cargo room for the price of the vehicle is sub par in my opinion. As were leaving, we stopped to looked at it and my son commented that the styling is very feminine (his words were a little more blunt), and frankly, I agreed with him. But like all opinions, take mine with a grain of salt.

Drove by my local dealer and it has 20 SFs in the lot! Now unless they're getting new ones in constantly, then I would say they are not flying off the lot at any great speed. Now, I guess the only way to tell would be to snap pics of every VIN to see if they are new or same ones sitting. Still, with that many, I cannot imagine not getting a good price. I did note however, than only 3 had the full navi package.
